This is a dark pouring and quite malty brew. A black beer from Brazil, although what I've had is contract brewed out of Canada, still this is my absolute favorite beer. If I could only drink one beer for the rest of my days this would be it.

The tag rings quite true it is smooth as silk.

Poured into a pint glass. Cola like appearance with a nice beige head that sticks around far better than any other dark lagers I've tried. Smell is English style malt with cocoa, caramel, bread and yeast. Taste follows the smell, being malt forward with only slight bitterness from the hops, but still quite dry and flavorful. Not heavy at all, with almost no alcohol presence. Carbonation is perfect for the style. Overall, this beer is dark and flavorful like a porter, but light and smooth like a lager. Good job on this one.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Couldn't figure out the freshness coding.

Black body, dark ruby when held up to the light. Small white head, a few streaks of lacing. Malty aroma with a faint roast. Quite smooth, dark and malty, a hint of licorice and roast. Slightly dry finish, and the roast late on. Okay drink.

Bottle pour into a tulip glass.
Dark brown black appearance with a soapy sticky tan head and foamy lacing. Molasses, fig, yeast notes. Medium body, light to medium carbonation, creamy mouthfeel.

A touch of sweetness, like a molasses, and a bit of anise. Quite a complex combination of flavors. A very smooth brew that is pleasing to the palate.

3/23/2023, on tap at The Flying Saucer, first stop on our Texas trip. Deck seating overlooking Lake Ray Hubbard.

Nice and dark brown in the glass. Soda-like 1 inch head that dissipated quickly. Got this one specifically because it's labeled as a Brazilian beer... Bottle says Canada!

Slightly sweet malt and stone aroma.

Nutty sweet and a light licorice flavor. Almost cola-like.

12 ounce bottle poured into a Pilsner glass.

L: Clear dark brown, two finger khaki head, rocky foam has good retention and leaves lace.
S: Roasted malt, fairly strong mineral note, hints of caramel and dough coming later.
T: Roasty, moderately bitter, light green hop flavor, just enough sweetness to keep the roastiness from becoming acrid, dry bitter finish.
F: Light body, crisp with a light bite, tiny bit of astringency.
O: Nice Schwarzbier though a little light on flavor.

12oz bottle served in a shaker pint glass. No date.

Appearance: Very dark brown in the glass, clear dark ruby red / mahogany color when held up to the light. Thin light tan head with some strands and islands of lacing.

Smell: Clean. A little yeasty.

Taste: Roasted malt bitterness up front and at the finish, along with some caramelized malt for sweetness for balance. But over time, it becomes more sweet than bitter.

Mouthfeel: A bit fizzy, a little thin, very dry finish.

Overall / Drinkability: Easy drinking but I feel it needs to be paired with food. By itself, I feel like it's a little too sweet. Worth a try, but not sure i would want another.

Xingu Black Beer is a 4.6% schwarzbier brewed by Cervejaria Kaiser based, out of Brazil despite saying it's a product of Canada. It pours an opaque dark brown with an off white head. The nose smells of roasted malt almost exclusively. The flavor is a combination between the sweetness of the roasted malt along with some of the bitterness of same malt. The mouth field is mostly smooth as advertised with a little bit of aftertaste lingering. This is not a bad beer and I would like to drink this again.
