Bavaria is like any other big macro beer. It is getting to the point where I cant tell the difference between american adjuct lager and pilsners. Pours golden clear with good carbontaion that provides an intial froathy white head that dissapates quickly. The smell and taste are bolstered by grain with some hop in an effort to balance the beer. This is a standard no-frills beer. Drink it cuz its beer.

Drinking this can thanks to my brother who brought me back some of Brazil's finest after his trip. 12 oz can poured into pint glass. Appearance is ridiculously light. It is like carbonated water with the slightest tint of gold in it. Short fizzy white head disappears quickly. Some decent lace left behind. The nose features musty grain, corn, and bread. Fairly straight forward with a tinge of that macro-corny-must that interferes with the light flavorless thing. The taste has a grainy sweetness up front, notes of corn and bread again. This has a bit of a malt liquor character to it, only problem is that if I am going to put my self through drinking something with that sweet malt liquor taste, I would hope that the ABV is at least something substantial. Not the case here as it is 4.6%. The sweetness fades into nothingness and has a crisp and somewhat clean finish. Mouthfeel is feather light with high carbonation. Overall, this beer is quite disappointing. Perhaps it would achieve a better score if it were in the adjunct light lager character, but this is a joke of a German Pilsener. Do yourself a favor an avoid...unless you are looking for the tick.

Two fingered head. Very pale yellow color. Good carbonation.
Faintest aroma from the last adjunct lagers I tasted, some corn could be felt.
Below average even comparing to other cheap adjunct lagers. Sweeter flavor, with a predominantly skunk and corn predominance. A collection of off-flavors, especially metallic-oxidized although still had a good 6 months till expiration date

Straight pour from 350ml can to small tumbler; freshness date of October 31, 2011 printed on underside of can (23/10/11). I know the style here says German Pilsener, but c’mon. This is very much an AAL.

Appearance (2.0): Clear yellow-gold body with one finger of just off-white, coarsely carbed head that diminishes quickly to a thin ring around the edge of the glass. Body’s actually piss yellow, kind of like ½ of Michigan, BC, or USC’s colors.

Smell (2.5): Pretty insubstantial, but there’s some mild sweetness and fresh vegetable aromas happening; no hop presence to speak of.

Taste (3.0): There’s a brief, mild wave of bitterness mixed with the crisp flavor of cold lager, but after that comes a moderate sweetness kind of like fresh sweet corn on the cob. Some light bready notes. Yeast is pretty neutral, and this doesn’t taste spoiled or skunky at all. Always a plus for this style.

Mouthfeel (4.0): Relatively lush, actually. There’s a mixture of coarse and fine bubbles that quickly spread throughout your mouth, but then subside not TOO, too quickly to the loose, watery body.

Overall (3.5): Call me crazy, but for an AAL this isn’t so bad. Yes, it’s cheap, yellow, fizzy, and adjuncted to hell; it’s also light, refreshing, inoffensive, and somewhat more substantial than other Brazilian AALs.

Had multiple offerings of this one, fresh while in Brazil, under 100 + degree weather.

Golden yellow, good white head that shows average retention.
Clean nose and flavor, if nothing special. Some cookie notes, a mild hoppy bite, that at times feels grassy. Light bodied, quite refreshing if fresh, went well for a beach day.

Poured from a clear 11.2oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a pale gold color, with a short white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of adjuncts, light malts, grain and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste is very bland with mild flavors of adjunct sweetness and the breadiness of grain and barley. There's a very mild hops presence. I'm just not getting very much flavor out of this beer at all, good or bad

M: Crisp and a little smooth, very light body, medium-to-high carbonation, finish is clean.

D: Not flavorful at all, goes down easily for that reason, not too filling, mild kick, decent representation of style, I suppose some might consider it thirst-quenching since there isn't much to this beer but overall it's just not a good beer.

My co-worker, stationed in Sao Paulo, brought me 5 samples of Brazilian beer (all pilsners) – so these are fresh (and cheap, only .50 each from a market). This was sample #2

Best by 6/15/06 printed on the bottom – good. Pour – hmm. Candy yellow with a fast disappearing white head – again disappointing. Hint aromas of veggies and more malts – better than the Kaiser sample. Smoother tastes of lite malts and underlying grains, including some possible corn.

Crisp and biting in the mouth. But overall not too bad – and with 4.6% abv, this could be a decent session candidate. Just because it’s a pilsner, you should not overlook this one – or look down your nose at it.

A Marca Bravara is like your run of the mill import.

A = A pale yellow with a thin foam head that dissapates quickly

S = Sweet. Corn Sweet.

T = Bland. Tastes like water with a hint of sugar. Do not drink this warm. Tastes crapola warm.

M = Moderately Carbonated.

D = Not high on my gotta drink list.

So this is what Molson / Coors is importing into the US to counter attack the influx of South American brews? Lame ...

11.2 oz clear bottle with no freshness date, embossed glass with the brands logo and a paper label around the neck.

A- Pale yellow hue, decent white lacing adorns the glass.

S- Sweet creamed corn, dull grassy hop aroma.

T- Light on the malt with very little flavor in the finish, corn and cooked veggies. Slightly sharp hop bitterness but no hop flavor. Finishes with a mild astringency.

M- As crisp as any macro brewed lager should be. Light bodied.

D- Not that I want to drink this beer again but it is only good when it is cold ... once it warms up the off flavors really come through.

Just your run of the mill macro lager ... that is all.

a really bland and tasteless beer. My roommate bought this, and it will be the last time I ever drink this swill again.

Pours a usual pale yellow macro with absolutely no head or lacing. Smells of corn adjuncts but very subtle.

Taste is well....BLAND....all I can taste is water. This is a very light beer with no hops or malt present. Mouthfeel is very light, going down very easy making the drinkability average.

As this beer is priced at $12.25 per 6 pack (rivaling 6 pack of Duvel and Hoegaarden to name a few) your paying for their mass advertising and not the quality. I would take an pabst blue ribbon over this anyday for a lawnmower beer, this beer will never enter my mouth again.

Lots of beer drinkers fellows seem not to like this brew, but I consider A Marca Bavaria not that bad for Macro marketed beer. Also, I gotta give a mention for their Ads campaign here.

Appearance: A little too pale for being really golden. It is still looks cool. A tall neck of foam.

Smell: Fruity. I like it.

Taste: A very good light tasted beer for summertime drinking.

Mouthfeel: Better than expected. Fun to drink and taste it. Interesting aftertaste.

Drinkability: Better than expected. An interesting alternative to Corona or Molson Canadian.

beutifully well presented brazillian beer, but like the infamous 'boys from brazil' appearances can be deceptive and all is not as it seems. just another ho hum lager of absolutely no distinction whatsoever.

clear embossed bottle with the great green and gold colors of brazil around the neck. unfortunately the beer is insipid looking once poured, very corona like. and like corona, its no good without a slice of some kind of citrus in it. at the end of the day, that says it all.

my first brazillian beer and a totally forgettable one at that. not really worth the try if the chance arises. just unfortunate brazillians dont seem to brew beers of the same flair as their soccer teams.

Came in a clear embossed bottle. Pour was pretty much as was on display in the bottle....pale straw color small head that disappears quickly to a light ring...overly carbonated...Smell was promising...slight skunk like a Beck’s with corn/veggie smells under the hops. Started too fizzy from far too much carbonation...malts are vaguely detectable, corn dominates...some saaz hops tastes...finishes fast with a slight mustiness and no after taste...Molson’s is pumping this as a beach beer so I suppose it will do well with the kiddies...it’s fizzy and bland enough that a lime slice and a dorky drink umbrella just may improve the flavor....what there is of it.

Roughly the equivalent of Miller High Life, down to the plump fruit and steamed corn flavors.

The aroma is evident right away and offers ample, doughy green banana and fermented hay notes. On the palate it delivers clean, succulent pastry and fruit flavors reminiscent of stollen. It is dry with a snappy, tangy finish supported by the merest powder of hop tannin.

Quite drinkable and suitably balanced for hot-weather drinking.

This was a beer I sampled at a recent beer fest, and as I’ve not seen many Brazilian beers, thought it worth a try.

The beer pours a prototypical Pilsner limpid gold yellow, the head average and white, the lace satisfactory, with the nose the standard crisp and clean sweet malt. Start is malt and lightly sweet, top cadaverous, and the finish hop to style, dry aftertaste and a totally forgettable brew.

It seems to me that the skimpier the women are clad in a beer commercial, the worse the beer actually tastes. In that case A Marca Bavaria should be in the realm of soft core porn already, as opposed to the goons already ogling the string bikini clad vixen teasing on the beach.

Was served in a clear bottle, with a stemmed glass sporting a lime on its rim. I set the lime aside for the pour. This beer appeared a pale, watered-down yellowish tinge. The aroma is industrial, of adjuncts and chemicals, and made me recoil as I was caught off guard. The flavour was like licking hot dusty blacktop, not refreshing at all, made me feel like I was in a factory or stranded in the middle of a desert. I had to stuff the lime into the glass in order to finish this, since I put down my cold hard cash at the bar for this, and there was no sink available to dump it down (plus it was part of an event put on by the establishment, so I had to finish it to make it count). The mouthfeel and drinkability is like being taken hostage by South American guerillas. I feared for my life. If I get out of drinking this bottle alive, I promise never to go back, I've learned my lesson.

Short twenty second head that reduces to a thin film and leaves some rings of lace early on.

Pours utterly pale yellow, rather insipid to look at. Nose is slightly skunky, weak malt. A little sharp on the tongue, a hint of hops and then nothing. Absolutely zero. Very thin and watery.

They can throw as many bikini-clad women in as many TV spots as they'd like. It's still an uninspired, rather tasteless beer. Being greedy I figure one should be able to enjoy bikini-clad women and a decent beer at the same time.

Boring, but not hurtful. And it hasn't been around long enough yet to breed that contempt that comes with familiarity which burdens Corona.

Crystal clear straw gold body with a thin cap of bright white froth that drops readily to a razor-thin surface covering and bib-bubbled collar. However, some wide swatches of thin lacing are still left at the outset. The nose is a touch earthy over some minor maltiness. The body is light and crisp. The use of adjunct is clear in it's light malt flavor and no hop flavors are to be found although there is a slight bitterness to it. It finishes short and dry. A well-balanced and refreshing beer that's simply lacking in character.

A thin but refreshing beer. Not much of a head. If its a hot day and the A Marca Bavaria is cold its refreshing. It has a resonable taste. Not offensive. It is certainly easy to swallow 'cause there is no aftertaste to speak of. Nothing really special. Its the kind of a beer that you are not going to serve but you wouldn't mind drinking it if it were offered to you.

Even though it's cheap crap, it's pretty good for cheap crap. Pale, almost clear colouration. Sort of like looking through a cheap pair of sunglasses. Small head, but it left rims of lace around my mug. Slight skunk smell. No surprise, it is a clear bottle. Sweet smell, very malt dominant. Sweet, refreshing taste at first, followed by sour patch candy.. Somewhat citrusy, but with more lime and even oranges and grapefruit than lemon. No bitter aftertaste. In fact, no aftertaste whatsoever. After the swallow, any indication that their was something liquid in your mouth is gone. Typical thin mouthfeel. Slight crispness. It's drinkable as a cheap session beer, but not a beer to be enjoyed for greatness. I was happy I tried this. Expecting a Corona ripoff, I was pleasantly surprised that this was good.

Tried this on the weekend. It was served very cold and went down nice and easy. Unfortuantely when a beer is served cold it is usually trying to hide it's poor quality.

It remined me of corona right off the bat , but it had a much more fruity taste to it. Superior to Corona but still a run of the mill yellow fizz.

Even a great marketing capmaign can't hide the fact this is a mass produced weak beer. But, still not a bad cheap refresher for the summer months.

Better than Corona.
