In a tulip the beer was a golden color with a large white head. There was scant lacing.
Sweet fruity aroma, as well as peppery spice. Nice, but a little laid back.
Bananas, pears, peaches in the taste. Peppery. Sweet malt background. Taste also a bit timid.
This beer was sweet, probably too sweet for me.
Somewhat above average.

Picked this up at the brewery. Poured into my Duvel tulip.
A - Pours a nice crystal clear honey hue with a good almost three finger head that slumps down to leave a thick one finger blanket. Not much side lacing though.
S - Pretty straight forward here. Light sweet malts, caramel, belgian spices, not much booze.
T - Again, pretty straight forward. Sweet (but not cloy) malts, belgian spice notes, faint, faint floral hops, alcohol, and a light almost creamy lacto note too on the finish. Finish quickly becomes boozy though.
M - Mouthfeel is on the lighter/thin side, and the finish is a bit too boozy for my liking. It works for a tripel, but I've had better.
O - Overall, not a bad tripel. A touch too boozy and straight forward.

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, hazy, orange-gold in color, high carbonation
Smell: funk, apricot, and Belgian spices
Taste: big banana with sweet peach, coriander, clove, cinnamon, and funk
Mouthfeel: sweet and funky with a bitter spike in the middle, light bodied with high and prickly carbonation
Overall: The best beer I have had from the brewery and a really banana forward tripel. I was pleasantly surprised with how good this was. Light and complex, a great local option for a tripel.

This one was shared at a tasting while hanging out with Mississipping! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller taster flute. Poured a hazy golden yellow-orange with a one and a half finger white head that subsided to a half finger slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, fruit, wood, subtle vanilla, and banana. The flavor was of sweet malt, fruit, wood, vanilla, and banana. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. All of the aspects going on in this one were really spot-on for the style, but the barrel seemed to add another depth of complexity to it that you would not have expected. The barrel while being there wasn’t overly aggressive but seemed to mix quite well with the fruit profile taking place. This made it quite enjoyable and probably one of the bigger surprises of the evening during this tasting. A definite must try if you get the opportunity.
