This beer is billed as an "imperial pilsner". Tasted in a pint, on tap, a few days after release.
The aroma is surprisingly light, with pleasant malt tones and a hint of floral hops.
It is beautifully clear, deep gold in color, with a good white head.
It comes into the mouth with a pleasant malty sweetness, which is immediately balanced by the 40 IBUs of hop bittering. Floral hops float around, without dominating, and the finish is clean and malty.
Medium bodied, with a pleasant warmth from the alcohol.
Just as their Premium is a version of the standard american lager with integrity, I'm thinking this is a malt liquor with integrity. It's got flavor, in a restrained, not in-your-face way.
Serving type: on-tap
