a - poured a three-fingers thick bubbly, fizzy, tan head into a tulip glass that left a thin ring and sheet that disappeared halfway through. the body was dark brown with reddish-purple edges.
s - raisin and other dark fruit aromas but is dominated by the candi sugar. a little too sugary sweet for me.
t - plums, raisins, candi sugar, a hint of spice in the front. still a little too much of the candi sugar.
m - bubbly and medium.
o - good effort but too sugary for my taste and the style in my opinion.

This brew is a great example of what and who Yellowhammer really is. They put their own twist on brews that make them unique. This brew is not at all as malty as many Dubbel's I have had and I like that. They use an imported candy sugar in this brew. It has a hint of raisin in it. It also is not overly fruity which I like also. Most definitely a brew people need to grab. This brew drinks well and lingers well on the pallet. Great brew.

It's a bit different for the style. Definitely more smooth and accessible than expected. Overall it has a pleasant flavor and hides it's moderately high abv well. There's arguably better choices for the style, but either way it's a solid brew and one to pick up.

22oz bottle into tulip.

A: Slight gusher of a bottle. Pours a deep woody raisin brown with a couple fingers of dense dark brown head that faded into nothingness rather quickly. No lace.
S: Very sweet notes of raisin, caramel, brown sugar, dark bread, spice and a few fruity esters.
T: Follows the nose with caramel, dark fruits, raisins, plums, bread crust, and cola. The finish has notes of dark chocolate and fruit esters, and the aftertaste has flavors of woody, leafy and earthy hops. Slight red grape skins and leather. Lightly bitter in the finish, but sweet overall.
M: Crisp soda like carbonation is a bit too light and sparkly for my liking. Medium-full body, wet and splashy mouthfeel.
O: Pretty good flavors but not as deep or rich as the greats. Drinks well though, carbonation could be softer, but not bad all around.
