Off the tap at Beach Hut Deli in Lincoln, CA.
A finger of head on a medium straw colored body.
The aroma is a pleasant lemon, pine and honey scent.
The taste as a solid heavy bitterness with a good malt backbone. Not a hint of sweetness.
Crisp and smooth texture. Moderate carbonation and medium body.
A fine IPA.

Thanks to drewone for sharing this one at his tasting.
Pours a hazy orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest. Taste is much the same with a mild hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but nothing all that exciting.

On draft at Holbrooke, Grass Valley CA.
A- Penny copper color with orange hues. Average. Carbonation was fine.
S- Butterscotch notes. Besides the Diacetyl, this seems pretty malt forward with some floral notes.
T/M- Diacetyl plays a little bit, but not terribly overwhelming. Fairly balanced between malt and hops, although I would like some more hops in all stages (bittering, flavor, aroma). A little too much crystal malt and not enough hops for my liking. Drinkability is easy going down though. Seems more like a pale ale.
O- Im glad Holbrooke finally decided to put an IPA on tap since I frequent there often, but this one didnt do it for me all that much. Leave this beer on the yeast longer to clean-up nasty's (Diacetyl). Up your IBU's, dry hopping, and cut back slightly on the crystal malt. This beer was drinkable and I will probably order it again if Im at the Holbrooke, but this is not something I would seek out or purchase a bottle of. Ive heard good things about this beer and wonder if maybe this particular batch just didnt turn out well. I will make sure to re-visit this beer (possibly at the brewery itself) and give an honest updated review if the beer exceeds these marks.
I had a chance to revisit this beer and found it slightly better. Changed grade from C to B-. There was no trace of Diacetyl in aroma or flavor. Standard floral aroma with most likely Cascades used in the dry hop. I very clean tasting beer w/ still a moderately low level of IBUs detected (maybe 50ish?). I very drinkable beer that hits the style, but nothing impressive or blowing my hair back like other IPAs on the market. Needs more hops all around and preferably some pungent high alpha ones. Very drinkable beer though..
Alright guys, you need to get it together. I tried this again and actually didn't even want to finish my beer. Overdose of Diacetyl, too much butterscotch. Not enough hops to be called an IPA. My homebrew smashes this in the dirt. I hate to sound like an A-hole, but you guys need to put some work into this beer. I really want to like this beer because it is local. I will maybe check it out in a few months to see if there is any improvement...
Awesome improvement. Ive had this several times in the past month and really dig. Recipe change? More hops and dry hopping? Different hop varieties? It really tastes like a different beer and Im happy you guys can produce this result.

Pours a bright gold color with a pretty nice head.
Nose is citrus like, with some oranges, pine, and resin too.
Taste has a creamy, bready malt flavor up front and slightly sweet. Beer then settles into some nice hop flavors, floral, orange citrus. Finish is crisp and dry.
Mouthfeel is good, nicely carbonated.
Overall, this is a pretty nice IPA, I'd order this one again. Well done Loomis Basin.
