Canebrake is crisp and smooth with a beautiful golden honey color. This refreshing American wheat style brew highlights sweet remnants of sugarcane with notes of honey, spice, and citrus on the finish. A new Louisiana tradition, Canebrake was the first commerical beer in the world brewed with local sugarcane syrup!

I tried a pint of this beer off the tapper at Walk Ons in Houma, Louisiana. It poured a hazy golden with white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had grain and mild citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet light malt base and grain and citrus highlights. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving just a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is strong of a grainy wheat smell mixed with a light hay and a little bit of lemon and orange. Along with these smells comes some light caramel and a bit of harvest fruit.
Taste – The taste begins with a grainy wheat taste mixed with a caramel sweetness. These tastes create a base taste for the brew and last throughout the flavor profile. While the taste advances the caramel fades just a tad, while some hay and herbal hop join. Toward the very end of the flavor profile a tiny bit of earth comes to the tongue, leaving one with a rather nice wheaty slightly drier taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the style the feel is good and makes for a good easy sipper.
Overall – A rather nice easy drinking wheat beer, that is flavorful and not too sweet.

Parish Brewing Co. "Canebreak"
12 fl. oz. can, "CANNED ON 07/09/20 08:13" and sampled on 12/23/20
$2.69 @ ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Wildwood, FL
Notes via stream of consciousness: Typical wheat beer appearance with a hazy golden body and a full head of white foam. The aroma is sweetish and fruity with apple and pear, and a bit of floral and citrus which reminds me of Cascade hops, which is not to say that's what they've used, just that that's what I'm reminded of. Well, following on that note I'm getting more orange out of the flavor. It's like a candied orange. Lots of honey notes. I'm not sure if there's any honey involved but damn, it tastes like it. I don't see anything on the label about honey so maybe they're able to pull that out of honey malt - if so, kudos! It's sweetish, but at the same time mostly balanced. The honey note lingers along with some orange and a touch of spiciness, and it's really quite pleasant. I can see, however, that if you were to drink two or more of these in a row it might start to build up on your palate. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp. There's some protein to it as well, and it's a touch velvety. So, what to say about this overall... ? It's a really nice, well rounded and flavorful wheat beer that's got a nice balance of sweetish wheaty malt and citrusy, floral, and spicy hops.

The MickandBrick Beer Review gave Canebrake a try after sampling a can of the ‘Crichton Leprechaun’ Beer they released.
The Canebrake had a dark golden pour that was filtered but had a hazy appearance. Had a nice look for a beer. The aroma of Canebrake wasn’t good with a hint of ammonia or dirty mop water. The smell was a real turn off. The taste was much better with a wheat beer body. It was crisp and refreshing. An easy drinking beer with subtle flavor. Nothing really jumped out at us but we both liked it. Check out our review video @MickandBrick on Facebook/IGTV
