Notes/Commercial Description:
Canebrake is crisp and smooth with a beautiful golden honey color. This refreshing American wheat style brew highlights sweet remnants of sugarcane with notes of honey, spice, and citrus on the finish. A new Louisiana tradition, Canebrake was the first commerical beer in the world brewed with local sugarcane syrup.

A: nice dark copper with good head retention. Effervescent

S: Caramel and honey with a little hop aroma and hint of bread

T: Same as nose but with a little more hop flavor. Perfect level of bitterness for the style

M: Light-medium body with a sharp finish

Parish Canebrake has a thick, frothy, white head and a somewhat hazy, golden appearance with some lacing and not too many streaming bubbles. The aroma is of sweet malt and maybe sugar. Taste is of sweet bread, sugar, and a touch of bitterness, but not much. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Parish Canebrake finishes mellow and very refreshing. Overall, this is an excellent, sweet, flavorful beer. I strongly recommend it.

12oz Brown bottle with pry-off cap and no best by date. Poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with 1/2 finger of head

Smell: Light biscuit and malt

Taste: Biscuit malts and some wheat with a little floral hop note towards the end finishes slightly sweet and dry

Mouthfeel: Crisp and refreshing

Overall: Im impressed. While there isn't a lot of wheat character, this is a great refreshing, crisp, drinkable beer. Im pairing with some Boudin.

On tap at Burgersmith, Lafayette, LA - yellowish amber with thin white head. Aroma of stale bread, citrus fruit, and spice. Flavors of citurs peel, namely lemon, hay, malted wheat and a good bitter after. Decent wheat brew - the cascade hops give it an APA feel. It went well with my spicy burger.

Poured into a weizen glass. Pours light golden with a thick eggshell colored head that dissipates slowly. There are lots of visible tiny streaming bubbles rising in the beer. There are faint aromas of wheat and barley. The smell is mildly sweet and there's virtually no discernable hop aroma. The beer has flavors of wheat and barley malt and some mild sweetness. There are some mild grassy hops in the flavor. Overall, the flavors are pretty mellow. The body is light with strong carbonation. The finish is slightly dry and the drinkability is high. This is a good beer.
