On tap at the Old Toad in Rochester, NY.

Pours a fairly dark brown, almost black, with basically no head or lacing.

Smells quite sweet, and exactly like a campfire s'more, except without the burnt aspect or the smoke aspect. There's some dark chocolate, some bready graham cracker, and vanilla.

The taste also gets the s'more aspect down pat. It's sweet and creamy, almost milky, with a chocolate syrup, vanilla cream, and graham cracker, with a smidgen of roasted malt, just enough to keep it from being too cloying and sweet.

This one is really rich and creamy, with a lower amount of carbonation, and a medium body.

Though loaded with adjuncts, this one is still quite tasty.

Subtle toasty aroma of s'mores, incredibly smooth and delicious chocolate taste. Serves well with slightly salted desserts (think pretzels, salted caramel, etc). This is my favorite dessert beer!

Pours opaque black. The 1/4 inch khaki head disappears completely and leaves almost no lace.

The smell is an amazing combination of dark chocolate, graham cracker, coffee, roasted malt, vanilla and barbeque char. Like boozy s'mores.

The taste is of bitter dark chocolate, graham crackers and faint vanilla.

The texture is heavy bodied with low carbonation.

Very impressive and inviting aromas of s'mores. Taste is slightly less impressive. A very good cold weather stout.

Review from notes.

A: Poured a deep black with a small tan head on top, decent head retention. Thin lacing forms on the sides and disappears rather quickly.

S: Some roasty/charred malt, a bit of chocolate and vanilla, a bit of marshmallow and some graham cracker.

T: Surprised at how well it came together in the flavor profile. A mix of chocolate and marshmallow with faint graham cracker malt. It comes together almost like a chocolate/cream flavor.

M: Medium bodied, maybe a tad thin, with medium carbonation.

O: Pleasantly surprised. Not something I would drink all the time, but it was a nice change of pace.

Had on-tap at the Sports Page in Roseville, CA

Appearance - Served up opaqe black with a light tan, finger width head on top. Good retention. Leaves behind a fair amount of lacing on the glass with good stick.

Smell - This stout is infused with graham cracker and marshmellow: it shows. Somewhat smokey as well. Huge chocolate character. Lesser notes of coffee.

Taste - Follows the nose. Sweet chocolate at the forefront, complimented by moderate smokiness and hints of graham cracker and marshmellow sweetness. Traces of coffee roastiness hit near and roll into the finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium in body with lively carbonation. A touch sharp on the tongue, but goes down and finishes with decent smoothness.

Overall - Highwater really nailed this. They took a gimmicky concept, put it into a bottle and made a respectable stout. That's rare to do. Great after a glass, but I'm not so sure I'd wanna session this due to the sweetness. At worst, it's a fantastic dessert beer.
