Another in the group of beers brewed for Bellingham's new club Hackey-Ball team, The United. The name of this beer refers to the fact that the United are the only American team in a league where all the other teams are from Canadia. Available only at the brewery, The Copper Hog (home pub for the team) and at the beer garden during the Uniteds games.
Served in a straight pint glass. Poured a cloudy, hazy pale gold/amber color with about a half-inch of white head that had low retention but crazy sheets of sticky lacing. The aroma was fairly well balanced between nice earthy malts and some citrusy hops.
On the tongue the beer had a bit more hop forward profile, but not so dominant as to hide the nice malts. There was a tangy citrus hop finish that lingered a bit, but not so long that it was annoying.
Body was fairly typical for an APA, a bit fuller than, say, a SNPA, but not heavy by any means. Drinkability was good, I foresee having a few more of these. Overall, a nice example of the style. This draft only brew is a must try if you see it, and might be worth a trip to either Edmonds or Bellingham to to grab a pint.
Serving type: on-tap
