Received in trade from MeadMe, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a slightly hazy dark brown with ruby highlights and a smallish off white head that dissipates quickly. Oddly hoppy earthy and citrusy aroma for a scotch ale. Dark sugars and fruits round out the aroma quite nicely. The flavor is sweet up front with dark sugars and a hint of oaken bourbon and an onslaught of vanilla. Light fruity tartness as well as a touch of butterscotch round out the flavor. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. This one is quite unique, it reminds me of something I'd be handed to try at a homebrew club meeting. Not horrible, but not something I would want again.

Last bottle that i have, figured i might as well review this one tonite.
Poured into my duvel tulip, seemed like the proper glass for this one. This is the first ever bottling by the brewery and hopefully a sign of things to come.
The TBC Hop Scotch is pretty much what it tries to be, a hopped up version of a scotch wee heavy. It has been oak aged and had citra and amarillo hops used in the brewing process to bring out a pretty unique flavor profile. The best part of this beer to me is that it completely hides 9.5 abv, it is very smooth drinking but in no way a malt bomb.
Probably the best beer i've had so far from TBC, seeing that i live 10 miles from there, keep up the good work.

On Draft at Coffee District in Delray :)
A- draft served into Cigar City Snifter, dark brown/mahogany body, off-white rim of foam that gives delicate lacing. one of the nicer looking beers i've had in a while.
S- very fruity resiny hop oil followed by strong malt and some alcohol with mild sweetness.
T- follows nose, fruit dipa-esque hops with the perfect sweetness to counter. roasty malt stands up to compliment the incredible hops, very balanced. ends on fleeting hop bitterness that dries.
M- perfect crispness at start with perfect carbonation, thin body. creamy finish on bubbles and then dry from good alcohol.
O- WOW i'm very impressed by this tequesta ale. i've had a few others and this is the best by far (and the others are very good). i could easily drink 2 or 3 of these because of beer isn't too clingy and the alcohol isn't too overpowering. hope to get a bottle and see if it compares.
