An approachable, yet full-flavored IPA with of Centennial and Columbus hops to give it a refreshing citrus flavor and aroma. Named for our love of biking and need to be “derailed” from our everyday lives once in a while.

Served in a pint glass at Lake Bluff Brewing 8/18/12. Thanks to HeatherAnn for the assist and thanks to the dood for the company!
A: Served a bright and brassy, orange-gold color. A hazy hint hides underneath 1 finger of creamy white foam. Retention was good and plenty of lace was left behind in the glass.
S: Plenty of stanky C hops. Spicy herb garden, citrus zest, and a lightly sweet malt backbone. Terriffic balance!
T: Similar to the smell but with different ratios. The malty sweetness becomes more assertive, but that could've been due to sitting at a semi-shaded sidewalk table out front.
M: Very nice balance between the bitter hops and malt smoothness. I would've preferred a touch more hop bite.
O: An excellent AIPA from this new-ish kid on the block. I expect great things from these guys.

On draft at the brewery, served in a footed tulip glass. Review from quick written notes.
Bright orange color, fine clarity, with a cap of white foam and lots of drippy lacing coating the glass. Dank resinous hop aroma, citrus peels and green botanicals, earthy resinous hop bitterness with a sturdy pale malt in the middle that builds over the duration of the glass. Very drinkable, it definitely satisfies the hop craving.
