Fleur de Blanc is a white farmhouse ale with rose and elderflowers. Refreshing with a creamy body from malted spelt.

On tap. Hazy bright yellow color with creamy, bright white head. Aroma is really floral with rose petals and also some grass. Taste starts a bit tart, lactic with floral notes but finishes quite abrupt with almost no aftertaste. Light body with light to medium carbonation.

L: Pours a very hazy pale yellow with tons of retained head. A beer this light would benefit from some brightness.

S: Initially smells stereotypically like a Belgian blonde. Subsequent investigation reveals lots of elderflower and a hint of rose.

T: Typical light Belgian blonde. Little of the elderflower or rose makes the journey from the nose to the palate.

M: Nice and effervescent. Slightly heavier than I was hoping for.

O: The whole beer struck me more as a blonde than a saison or "farmhouse" ale. Maybe I went into it with the wrong idea but that disparity sort of threw things off for me.

On tap into a snifter at the Yards Cafe in Seattle. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a nice thin crown of white head and decent retention. Nose is woody, earthy, flowery/berries, maybe some faint dry citrus, and a little mustiness. Taste pretty much follows. Fairly lively mouthful but also kind of smooth and creamy, a little dry on the finish, without going too far in that direction ..this is right on point, as far as I'm concerned. I'd be very happy to have regular access to this.

this is the kind of beer i feel like nobody else is making out there. one of my top couple of favorites from our visit to the commons. what a cool place and what awesome beers. this one has a spelt and wheat base, hearty like a burly granola, a little honey sweetness there, and then elder flowers and rose in the mix as well. really clever and really well brought together. rich golden in color, rather clear for a saison type, with a good airy inch or more of white head slowly relaxing. it smells fantastic, you really do get the cereals first, fresh and different, boldly dosed, followed by the yeast, which is a pretty distinct but also quite tame more belgian than funky saison strain. the flowers themselves are actually more vibrant in the taste than in the nose, which i think is really uncommon with flowers in beer in general, which are usually super aromatic but not all that flavorful, this is the opposite. the flowers arent perfumey either, instead they take on a hop-like role, providing a nice bitterness, floral and blooming and summery. elderflower in front of rose here for sure, but both are there. they are a nice soft and delicate counterpoint to the more robust grain, and the yeast unites it all very well, drying it out in the finish. really fun beer, really inventive, and really good. stuff like this makes these guys one of my favorite breweries out there. absolutely love them.
