Notes/Commercial Description:
Previously called 'B-side'

ABV: 5.5% || IBU: 30

"A light , crisp and refreshing farmhouse ale. Golden to light orange in color with a floral nose and a dry finish. B-side is brewed with three base malts: Organic Pilsner, Organic 2-row and Rye. Northwest grown Willamette, Golding and Hallertauer aroma hops offer a soft underlying bitterness to help bolster the refreshing nature of the beer. The key note speaker in this beer is the Farmhouse Ale yeast."

750 ml bottle from Lifesource Natural Grocers in Salem. $8.99 Pours a slightly hazed golden colour with a large thick and rocky white head. Nice carbonation strings rising. Fine yeasty, leafy, slightly earthy pepper aromas. Some lemon zest too. Taste is slightly more sweeter than anticipated but mostly peppery, yeasty ,plum goodness..slight bitterness in end. LIked the mouth feel on this one..soft but plentiful carbonation and a great dry finish. Very nice beer..one for the summer.

Tasted 11 June 2014.

Pours about 95% clear golden yellow. Three fingers of white head, fuzzy with small bubbles. Great retention, excellent lacing.

Smell is warm and herbal. Juicy and slightly fruity, full of yeasty esters. A bit of citrus, slightly spicy, but the ambiguous yeast fruit comes through clearest. Well balanced, with a lot of the typical elements of a Belgian golden ale and a saison.

Taste is decent but unremarkable. Grainy, a little bit bitter, not a whole lot more to it. Inoffensive.

Feel is light for a saison. Carbonation is a tad on the low side.

A fine mid-level saison. Nothing special, nothing bad about it.

A: Pours a cloudy pale amber with a small amount of white head. A film retains on the surface, leaving mild lacing.

S: Yeasty and somewhat sweet, with a strong grain background.

T: Also yeasty with grainy sweetness. It's nice, light, and refreshing, while still having good flavor.

M: Medium to light body, medium carbonation.

Overall, quite good. It's refreshing and light, has good complexity and flavor, and isn't particularly strong. I'd definitely recommend it as a hot day summer beer.

Pours a crystal clear golden straw color with a frothy pure white head that settles into a chunky cap.

The aroma is faint. There is a weak clove from the yeast and a weak multi-grain bread note from the malt. A bit corn like.

The taste is of a light pils malt; a bit watery. The yeast provides more of a clove presence than the aroma. Perhaps a hint of pepper. Very light in the flavor.

The feel is light and very fizzy. Quite airy on the palate. Not much of a presence of anything. Very neutral.

An extremely boring saison. Almost no flavor to this beer. No real off flavors so there is that. Pass on this beer.

Served on tap into a nonic glass.

A- Poured a semi-clear light golden color with bright white soapy head that left splashy lace.

S- Big peppery, lemon, grassy, and grainy notes. Lighter on the bubblegum notes.

T- A very balanced saison with peppery, grassy, grainy, pilsner malt, and some light bubblegum notes.

M- Light bodied, semi-dry finish, and soft carbonation.

O- A very nice and clean saison with less prominent yeast expression than others in the style.
