Pint from a growler filled at "b2 Taphouse" in Salem. I think $13. Beer is a darker brown colour with a large thick and frothy tan head..that sticks around! Nice aromas of nuts,Belgian style yeasts, cherries and toasted malt. Again nice fruity yeasty Belgian accents in the taste..touch of nuts and some sweet black cherry..semi bitter coffee malts in the end Good mouth feel substantial but not thick and cloying. Overall likable beer here a good hybrid. (454 characters)

on-tap @ Belmont Station.
from notes.

Deep brown, with amber edges when held to light. Foamy, dense light brown head.

Roasty, nutty, light cocoa. Delicate, but still flavorful.

Medium body, foamy, unobtrusive carbonation.

A very well done porter. Lower end ABV with still a lot of flavor. Something I could easily enjoy a couple pints of. (342 characters)

Belgian Porter with Cascade Hops.

A - Dark brown almost black with a light tan off-white head that slowly moves to the edges.

S - Not much to pick up. A touch of Belgian yeast and slight hops.

T - Smooth chocolate and subtle coffee and a touch of hop bitterness.

D - Medium body with good carbonation.

O - Chocolate and a touch of Belgian and hops. (368 characters)

I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the brewery.

Appearance: very dark brown, nearly black, with a layer of ivory foam. I like it.

Smell: lightly funky with a nice sweetness. Not complex but refreshing.

Taste: quite nutty with a decent dose of funkiness. I like the idea, although they're not quite flavors that mix perfectly well.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a good creaminess. I like it.

Overall: an interesting beer, worth a try if you like nutty/toasty saisons (although it's not listed as a saison, it definitely has that character). I probably won't be coming back to this beer though. (625 characters)

Had at the brewery in SE Portland, OR

At the brewery they listed this brew as a dark farmhouse ale. However, I have also seen it listed as a Belgian porter.

Looks very similar to a porter with a nice deep brown/black coloring and a nice creay tan head with a very fine perlage.

Deep roasted flavors of walnuts, nut meat, roasted grain, and chocolate are offered with surprising clarity and focus.

The flavors of roasted nuts, malts, and cacao are echoed on the palate along with a very subtle cherry fruit quality. Very solid stuff. (538 characters)
