Squashed is a big, bad porter that's nice and rich for the fall season. Locally harvested butternut squash and pumpkins are chopped and slow roasted with a heavy does of pie spices. We then pour in enough cocoa nibs to all but guarantee you'll be feeling the love. Finally, Squashed is patiently aged in rum barrels until it takes on all those delicious flavors and is ready for impact.

This is definitely my favorite pumpkin ale. The pumpkin flavor is there, but with a little chocolate on the back end. Very smooth and flavorful. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

Bottle number 549

A - Pours a very dark almost black with a 1/2 finger dark tan head. Good looking beer

S - Very earthy smelling. Smells like a V8 with hints of chocolate. Strange

T - Hmmm...very different. Much like the smell. v8 mixed with chocolate. Not what I was expecting at all. Not a sweet beer.

M - Medium body beer with mild beer. Still smoot drinknig ven with the burn

O - A very differrent type beer. Not what I was expecting at all. I was anticipating a very sweet chocolatey beer. Lots of flavor in this beer, just not sure it agrees with me!

A Chocolate Pumpkin Porter aged in Rum Barrels

Bottle# 907 pours mahogany with 2 fingers of caramel colored head. Above average lacing & average head retention

S: Carob, plums, & molasses, faint spicyness

T: Carob notes molasses, cocoa & a touch of boozey. a little bit of figs & nutmeg up front. Darker chocolate comes through as this warms, faint squashyness & some booze warmth as well with whispers of rum & faint all-spice, plus a little bit of plum & figgyness. Finishes dry with a touch of raisin, more cocoa & chocolate & a bit of coconut

MF: Medium bodied, slight carbonation, warming

Drinks easy, a nice pumpkin beer that will probably round into prime form with a month or three of age on it. Not a ton of pumpkin noticeable, flavor-wise. Very good, but not as impressive a the hype leading up to this release led me to anticipate on this one...
