Partigyle made from our Foggy Notion second running's in the style of an English bitter. Copper, 4.9% abv, moderately bitter and pleasantly hoppy with a floral earthy character. The malt character is mild with some toasted, biscuit flavors.

PG-13 is the partigyle companion to the yet-to-be-released Foggy Notion barleywine.

Growler, poured into a pint glass.

Pours a slightly turbid copper topped with a nice frothy white head. Fair lacing.

Nose is a blend of citrus and grassy hops, honey, and bready malts. There's a subtle richness that belies this beer's barleywine parentage. Balanced and well-rounded, inviting.

A pretty hefty dose of hop bitterness on the palate, on top of the malty richness. Caramel and toffee, slightly astringent nuttiness. Maybe a bit of grassy hops, but they're slight. Finishes with a lingering hop bitterness.

Light to medium bodied, firm and a bit sharp. (662 characters)

Got this in a growler from the brewery's tasting room.
Poured into a pint glass.

It has a nice almost amber color, decent head.
It smells pretty hoppy but it's also got a lot of malt in there as well.
It tastes pretty bitter and is very fresh. The malts are pretty big but the hops tend to leave me feeling a bit confused. A little less hop and this beer would be spot on.
It feels a little thin, I wanted it to be a bit chewier.
All in all this beer is pretty good. It's a pretty strange concoction but one that I am glad to have tried. I am anxiously awaiting the barleywine that this beer that is attached to. (613 characters)
