Sip away the season with Mother's Winter Grind. We've combined the rich goodness of a stout with our cold-brewed espresso blend, roasted for us by our coffee loving neighbors at the Mudhouse. The result is a wintery treat that'll give coffee and beer lovers a reason to cheer!

12oz bottle. Label is stamped 'ENJOY BY 02/05'.
Black colored body, with thin mahogany back lit edge. Light tan head, which settles back to a thin, bubbly cap. Leaves behind some short strings of lacing.
Aroma of coffee and roasted malts, along with a touch of chocolate.
Taste is coffee forward, with a sweet touch. Good roasted malt base, and some chocolate. Short lived aftertaste.
Smooth, thicker mouth feel. Dry roast finish. Good carbonation.
Solid coffee stout with a slightly sweet and dry presence.

Black in color with no light penetration. There’s a fingernail of khaki on top. The aroma is of black coffee. Faint, lightly soapy lacing. I’m tasting bitter, dark coffee. The mouth is oily and a bit thick.

Black coffee color with a modest tan head that recedes fairly quickly to just a ring.
The aroma is coffee with a bit of sweet malt in the background.
The taste is rich coffee with a sweet caramel malt base, the coffee is very nice, just a little sweet for my taste.
The body is medium, moderate carbonation, very smooth and very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a very tasty brew, other than being a bit sweet. If you take sugar in your coffee this might be just right. But even with the extra sweetness, this is one I could enjoy again.

Pours dark with a nice cola head. Fairly limited retention and lacing.
Aromas of coffee, lactose, and roasted malt.
Almost milk stout in its sweetness. Quite a bit of residual sugar. The coffee is very strong. Not sure it blends with the other flavors as well as I would have liked. It's like a stout with a shot of coffee instead of a stout with coffee incorporated into the overall brew.
Medium bodied and remarkably drinkable for the style.
A lot of great individual notes here but they don't quite mesh. The sweetness and coffee don't come together like they could. Still, the coffee flavor alone makes this one worth a try.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Enjoy by 01/15/21, so plenty fresh.
Looks standard in the glass. Black body, brown/ruby when held up to the light. Small tan head shrinks to a thick ring and faint covering leaving only a little lacing.
Aroma is strongly of coffee and expresso, with a light roast malt.
On tasting, exactly as promised by the nose. Pretty one dimensional, but not a bad taste.
Mouth is a little disappointing, very much on the thin side. Finish coffee.
Overall, a simple enough beer, but the coffee aspect dominates rather than compliments the stout. Not a bad taste, but wouldn't want more than one at a time.

12 oz bottle
Smokestack snifter
Deep shiny black with a tall light beige head of 3 fingers, receding to 1/2 finger leaving sparse spots of lacing.
Aroma is of coffee and roasted malt. Not terribly complex.
Flavor is coffee, um...coffee, ...some more coffee, earth, and slight nutty dark roasted malt.
Feel is carbonated and acidic. Roasty and slightly dry finish. Minimal to none for alcohol heat.
Overall, average and one-noted....very coffee-forward,, it's packed with it, so if you're a coffee fan you'll love it, but there's nearly no complexity. It is coffee first, beer second.
