Atlas himself might get a bit wobbly trying to hold up this hefty lager. Mother's super Czech-style Pilsner is a medium- to full-bodied brew that makes a strong first impression. Under all that muscle lies a soft malt sweetness, balanced by a ton of Saaz hops. Feeling big and mighty? Build your triceps with every last sip.

More than one growler of this has made it to my house. Solid, sweet malty flavor with a touch of hops. Maybe it's because I'm a hop-head, but I don't notice the hops nearly as much in this as some other reviewers. Has a stout mouthfeel and at 8.5 percent ABV, it gets the job done.

A: Pours a clear golden color with a decent head that fades to bits of lacing.

S: Aroma of citrus, grain and some malt sweetness. Not much else.

T: Taste of grain, citrus and some malt sweetness. There is a bitterness throughout and a dry finish that's is just a bit sticky.

F: Medium body, crisp but has a musty feel.

Decent beer, but not one of my favorite styles.

Pours a nice looking yellow with a hint of orange. Forms a fairly large white head that is a b it foamy, and persists.

Not a lot in the smell, mainly just malt and yeast.

Very hop dominated. There is a bit of a floral character, as well as some pine notes. Has a lingering bitterness in the finish.

It does feel nice and solid, no complaints here.

Maybe it's just me, but this tastes like an IPA to me. Hops are pretty much all I can taste, which to me makes this an IPA. If you are a hop lover, you will likely enjoy this one.

A - Poured a clear, golden yellow color with a one-finger, head of fluffy foam. It left very little lacing.

S - It smelled of caramel and grains. Very floral.

T - Tasted very sweet with lots of caramel and toffee. Low bitterness with a grassy bite.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light to medium bodied lager with a dry finish.

O - This is an okay imperial pilsener. Nothing particularly stands out with this one.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip.

Pours bright, clear amber topped with a somewhat creamy light white head. Nice lacing.

Aromas of light lemony citrus, sweet grain, a bit of musty and slightly funky yeast, and a touch solventy. The musty yeast takes over and becomes somewhat off-putting. At any rate, not as big as I'd expect in an imperial pils.

Quite grainy on the palate, followed by a lingering hoppy bitterness. A bit solventy again, amplified by the bitter hops. A little sweet vague citrus and caramel maltiness add a bit of complexity, but don't help a great deal.

Medium bodied, firm and a bit sharp. Quite dry, a little chalky. Has the unpleasant musty yeast funk that I dislike in Towhead. Maybe it's just me.
