American Blonde Ale |  5.20% ABV

Availability: Year-round

Notes/Commercial Description:
Marrying the best elements of traditional German golden ales and classic Midwestern wheats, this American Blonde lives up to Mother’s expectations. Towhead is refreshingly light-bodied with flavor that won’t quit. It starts slightly sweet with hints of fruit and finishes with the faintest hop kiss that’ll leave you reaching for another. And another.

Towhead is Mother’s little blonde baby. We've captured a subtle blend of sweet, fruity flavors—well suited for close examination yet balanced enough to go down smooth, clean, and crisp when you just want something cold and tasty.

On tap at the brewery.

A: Pours a light golden color with a decent head that fades to bits of lacing.

S: Mild aroma of grain, citrus, some herbs and bit of malt sweetness.

T: Flavor of grain with bit of caramel sweetness, Mild bitterness with a dry finish.

F: Light body, fairly crisp and somewhat refreshing.

O; Easy drinker, not too complex but good fit for the Midwestern fondness for this style.

A - Poured a golden honey with lots of bubbles and a 2 finger fluffy white head

S - Very little smell. Very light malt smell is about it

T - Biscuity, malty, grassy. Sweet with a dry finish.

M - Very light but dry. Easy to drink

O - A very drinkable beer. Could easily sit down and put down several.

Pours a pale yellow with a bit of a white head that quickly reduces to some nice lacing. Quite a few bubbles as well.

Pretty much all malt and yeast. Not saying that as a negative, the smell is actually more pronounced than others of this style I've had.

Tastes a lot like it smells, lot of malt and yeast. There is a bit of spice from the hops, has a bit of a dry finish.

Fairly standard feel for the style, although the carbonation helps it feel a bit more solid.

This is not my favorite style, as it tends to not be as complex a beer as I like. That being said, this is a good example of the style, it goes down easy, and would be nice to have on a hot day. One of the better ABA's I've tried.

12 oz pour into a pint glass.

A - Golden brown appearance with minimal lacing; minimal carbonation. Head was 1" on pour and dissipated to 1/8" quickly.
S - No discernible smell. Neutral. 3 for not having an unpleasant odor.
T - Wheaty and sweet, short finish. Was hoping for a more flavorful taste. Still above average.
M - Minimal carbonation on the front and sides of the tongue. Not a whole lot going on with this brew.
O - Not too impressed with this brew. It was pleasant and didn't offer much outside the taste and that was short.
