Notes/Commercial Description:
You're in for a treat with this one. Brewed with cocoa nibs and raisins and then lovingly aged in rum, sherry, bourbon, brandy and whiskey barrels, this big beer takes on flavors from the spirit and wood of each barrel. The end result is a complex and elegant companion that's right for carefree nights of privilege and excess.

Got this from Freddy from the Biergarten in Jenks, OK USA, cheers Freddy...

Pours jet black with a thumb of caramel colored head.nnNice viscious look to this, near zero head retention & lacing

S: Dark fruit (raisins& plums) & whiskey notes, some leafy hops; not as deep a nose as I had hoped for

T: Follows the nose, plus caramel & vanilla, plus milk chocolate & dryness up front. Faint smokeyness hides beneath the lucious sweetness & dark fruit notes, oaky dryness; just such a great blend of chocolate, caramel & dark fruit. Finishes dry, sweet, with a hint of molasess, chicory, a bit of sherry & molten chocolate cake, a touch of mint & coffee

MF: Chewy with slightly prickly carbonation, nice stickyness

ABV is completely masked, superior drinkabilty for the style. I must find this, Hopefully this becomes an annual release! This beer lacks some astethics but makes up for in taste easily A bloody good Imp Stout!

A- Blakkr with vanilla lacing no legs. No gumming up the glass when swirled around, pretty thin.

S- Barrel-soaked raisins; dark fruits like figs and plums, etc. Mild yeasty malt backbone.

T- Raisins are def noticeable. I am not a big fan of raisins in brew, but it is still enjoyable. Some chocolate in the background

M- Thin for BA stout, some carb follows down throat but not too much. Not really smooth, not really creamy.

O- I was meh

A: Pours black with a quickly rising mocha colored head. Great retention and some nice lacing with each sip. Looks awesome.

S: Ok, so an imperial stout aged in...every type of barrel possible. I'll buy the sherry and rum after smelling this. But the other elements are faint. As it warms up, I definitely start to pick up more of the bourbon. Powdery cocoa, black cherry, espresso and concord grape.

T: Milk (or should I say MILF?...no, just milk) chocolate with a rich and almost tart black cherry/raisin presence. Chocolate covered raisin, baking chocolate, plum and mild coffee. The barrel elements don't really show up much for me. Maybe a bit of sherry and bourbon, but they're mild. A solid beer and a great name, but nothing game changing.

Bottle thanks to Kyle...blindly poured and enjoyed.

Cannot review a beer all that favorably when a split 12 oz. bottle is dumped by both drinkers . Too many cooks in the kitchen without the left hand knowing what the right is doing. Theoretically awesome while practically a dud. Hard to dump such a small pour but damned if I did. Grapey surprise but the joke's on me. Just not an enjoyable beer.
