Bitter Monk's appearance is a hazy, pale amber hue. It's head begins as a fizzy soapy head but dissipates to a small ring sticking to the side of the glass. The aroma is nothing short of incredible and fascinating! The multi-layered hop scents, lemon, kiwi, and clove, all married to the brett/yeast earthy notes, wine-like characteristics, and a creamy hint to it make this one of the best smelling beers I have ever taken a whiff of. Taste - WOW! Not to be taken lightly this beer begins with the earthy brett, and quickly the piny hops jump in as well. The finish is pleasantly bitter with the flavor of the wine barrel revealing itself. The body and mouthfeel are not too overpowering, and it's got, I'd say a 7 on a scale of 1-10 in terms of alcohol heat. I am enjoying the warming sensations and pleasant buzz right away. Overall, the beer's a rare treat not to be missed. Top shelf- buy with confidence. I would also like to note that the beer was bottled in July 2011 and drank July 2012, with plenty of hop flavors very much present.

Straight pour from a 750ml/25.4oz cork-and-caged bottle to a stubby, stemmed tulip. Not sure on the exact bottling date, but I purchased this a couple of weeks ago and was told at the time that it is from the most recent batch. So, fresh-ish? Ehh, it’s a brett beer. It’ll be weird no matter what.

Appearance (3.5): A perfect two fingers of bone-white foam rises off the pour easily but not too aggressively, capping a glowing, moderately hazy, orange-tinted, light amber/straw-colored body. As the head dies down (at an average pace), it leaves a couple of small splotches of thin lacing here and there, and the remnants of a collar near the top of the glass. It looks beautiful right out of the gate, but retention and lacing are more or less average.

Smell (4.25): Nice musty tones, some dusty cereal grains, light peasant bread and slightly fruity wheat tones, some tangerine flesh, lemon juice, light orange peel, and all around just a very well-integrated aroma considering all of its far-flung components.

Taste (4.75): Holy shit nuts, what is going on here? All of the what’s in the nose is in here, too, but along with crazy fruit tones and tangy, citrusy bitterness. Musty, dusty cellary notes mixed with lightly tart, fruity wheat tones, some chewy, fresh-baked peasant bread come out of the gate first, but they’re quickly washed over by tart citrus flesh and zest and a really zingy finish that bridges hop flavor and bitterness remarkably well. Red grapefruit flesh, bitter orange peel, limeade, and tart brett flavor all mix together and swirl around and finish out with a seriously excellent grapefruit rind bitterness. As it warms, an earthy character comes out, that underpins everything else smoothly and cleanly. Crazy. Absolutely no booze. No off-note esters or out of place phenols from the yeast. Just extraordinarily well-integrated brett, malt, and hops. No way this is 9% ABV . . .

Mouthfeel (5.0): . . . because it drinks so damn ridiculously easy. Downright refreshing, honestly: just shy of medium weight with a soft but mature carbonation that foams modestly but fully, tingles lightly but all over, and leaves a dry, but not at all parching finish. I’m convinced this could not have a better feel, to be honest.

Overall (4.5): You’ve got to be kidding me. This beer is the kind of thing that gives me faith in craft brewing—that not everyone is doing their own version of the same old lineup, that some people are succeeding at executing the “what if” fantasy kind of beers (and doing it well), and that there are brewers making beer that’s essentially almost perfect on a regular basis. Absolutely, highly recommended. And yes, it’s worth the price.

Really excited for this one. Belgian Double IPA with Brett aged in French Oak Chard barrels. Crazy.

Out of the bottle the Bitter Monk is a delightful golden-yellow with a slightly off-white, 2 finger head poured into a pint glass. The head is extremely dense and foamy. Lots of little carbonation bubbles rush upward through a slightly hazy appearance from a little yeast that got into the glass. The lacing left on the glass is clumpy and sticky.

The aroma is all over the place. A sour, tart Granny Smith apple-esque smell is the first smell that infiltrates my nostrils. This is supported by hoppy citrus aromas of lemon, lime, and grapefruit. There is plenty of a bready yeast aroma in there, too. It's very interesting smelling the tart Brett mingling with such a strong hop aroma. Really good.

Whoa, that is an exciting and unique flavor. Oh meh gah... This is possibly the most original flavor I've ever gotten out of a beer. The first taste on my palate is of strong, dank, citrusy hops on the sides of my mouth (heavy on grapefruit flavors). This is complemented by a sour of explosion of sour apple and lime that also lands on the sides of my mouth, as well as straight on my tongue. Layering on top of those complex flavors is a buttery, oaky creaminess, which lasts for just a bit before being washed out by the Brett sourness and citrus hops. All the while there exists a very earthy and floral flavor.
There is a lot of crazy shyte happening in this beer. Awesome.

The mouthfeel is varied and exciting. The body of the beer is medium-full with a very creamy feel on the tongue, but all the while there is a puckering sourness and a puckering dankness from the Brett and the citrusy hops. The finish is all bitterness as the hops take over the reins.

I sound like a broken record, but this is a really crazy beer and I very much enjoyed it. If you like taking a palate adventure when you drink beer, this is the beer for you. So hoppy, so tart, and so creamy. Very interesting and highly recommended.

July 2011 Batch #1

A= The pour is a bright yellow color. The brightest yellow color I've ever seen in a beer. The head is thick and frothy looking and rises to a couple fingers high before falling to a frothy layer on top of the glass. The lacing is pretty good but it's not your typical sheets it's more of a spotty film.

S= Immediatly after opening the bottle I got quite a bit of Brett. Tons of brett in the nose and a nice hop blend to that compliments the brett in a unique way that I can't really explain. Interesting mix of brett and fruity hops. Unlike anything I've ever smelled.

T= The taste is again one of the most unique things I've ever tasted. Really nice mix of bright hops and a woody tannin barrel flavor. A tasty bretty flavor that actually seems to be maybe a little sour for typical brett only innoculation but that may be chardonnay. Really unique and interesting mix of flavors that all seem to work somehow in unison.

M= Bright carbonation as well as a thick lasting flavor that sheets on the tongue.

O= This is unlike anything I've ever tasted. Totally unique and very delicious. I always love it when a brewer comes out with a beer that is unique. This is one of those. Really unable to fully explain it. A tasty beer that is worth buying and buying. Try this beer. Hopefully the other beers from this brewery will be just as good.

Poured into an oversized wine glass. Pours out a beautiful hazy gold with an inch of dense white head. Plenty of sticky lace gets left behind on the glass.

The smell is very inviting. Grapefruit, lemon rind, caramel and funk start off the smell. Oak, alcohol and grapes are hidden in the background.

Smooth and balanced for being 100 IBU. The lemon/grapefruit start the taste, followed by Brett funk and oak. The malts smooth it out with a French bread middle, with a hint of grapes from the Chardonnay barrel. The finish is slightly sour but still bitter. Only a hint of the 9% ABV is noticable. Goes down easy.

One of the best Belgian IPA's I've ever had. Very complex and worth the bottle price. I wonder how it would hold up after a year. Might be an interesting experiment.

A: Pours a cloudy medium straw yellow in color with light amounts of visible carbonation near the surface. The beer has a two finger tall white head that reduces to a thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of sourness/tartness from the brett with some barnyard funk over the top of clementine/tangerine citrus hops.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of pale malts with quite a bit of sourness/tartness from the brett. There are some lighter notes of barnyard funk and clementine/tangerine citrus hops which lend a light amount of bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink as the high ABV is very well hidden and there is a very good balance to the flavors (not overly bitter or sweet) with the brett really enhancing the overall flavors of the beer. Great amounts of complexity to the smell and taste making it very enjoyable - definitely a great beer to sip on during football... Glad I got a second chance to have this one now that I have started reviewing (previously it was the best beer I had on New Year's Eve 2011 which included many nice beers).

Bottle - Batch #3, May 2013

A: Pours a hazy, straw yellow. Big, white, pillowy head that hangs around for several minutes, leaving very little lacing. Looks like a tripel from the pour.

S: This smells brilliant. Hoppy upfront with funky tart Brett. Peaches and apricots.

T: Citra hops upfront. Sweet exotic fruits. The funk and Brett isn't overbearing, but meshes with the hops brilliantly. Subtle oak underlying everything. There's a unique sweet kind of bitterness towards the finish that leaves a lingering apricot flavor.

M: Dry. Drinks like a white wine. Prickly. Full body. Heavy carbonation.

O: This is my favorite anchorage brew by a longshot thus far. The complexity of this one is immaculate. Every sip is a little different. Hoppy yet funky. Big fan.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass. Batch #1 July 2011.

Minor pop off the bottle. One of the best forming heads I have ever witnessed. Perfectly uniform bubbles of white everywhere. A clumpy retention head sitting on top of a pale amber to glowing brass yellow twenty four carat gold edges with lots of rising carbonation present. I don't know what perfection is.. in many ways it is an anomaly. But this here looks like just a flat out perfection presented.. the head formation is what got me.

Nose is like a bretty grapefruit citrus ipa saison hybrid. Slightly vinous and green grape smelling. Great fantastic nose. Hop angle does not seem obvious, after some time funky sense wears off and becomes more citrus dominant, feeling mildly sour.

Taste is like drinking orange bretty bubblebath, and a mix of huge hoppy pine blast in the aftertaste. Drying hop rooftop feel, with medium texture just down the middle for thickness. Texture is almost vinous but taken over by pleasant hop dryness. Hot punching yeast all throughout.

One seriously slamming beer from this brewery what can I say. They are making some dam good beer up in Alaska.

750 mL bottle, in a New Belgium globe,

A: Pours a translucent light orange with a gorgeous soft cloud of white foam which lasts forever akin to a Duvel. Great, thick full lace.

S: Tons of wildflower and spice, spring meadow. Light oak notes, sweet vanilla perfume obviously from the Chard barrels.

T: Sweet malt initially with a lot of esters - apple, Asian pear, kumquat. Dry spice in the mid-palate with a strong leathery classic Brett presence throughout. Great vanilla finish.

M: Medium to full-bodied, very smooth. Easy to drink for how big it is. Well balanced with a great long aftertaste.

O: This is the real deal folks. One of the best BIPAs I've ever had. $15 a bottle is tough, but here it's worth it. This beer is an experience and a great first impression from Anchorage.

Metalmonk, meet Bitter Monk. Okay, Metalmonk has already met Bitter Monk twice before, and he found much to like in this very complex and unique beer. So, third and final meeting (at $15.99 a bottle, it's gotta be the final meeting -- for awhile anyway)...

A very healthy pop of the cork and you can smell this thing from a couple feet away. But first, appearance: so pale and hazy as to resemble a witbier, or a double wit, perhaps. Washed-out golden peach/pear-juice. Head is a blinding-white fluff monster while it lasts, which is longer than expected. Patchy lace of various shapes and sizes splatters the glass.

Ooh, that smell. Can't you smell that smell? It's huge. It's American, French and Belgian all at once, and it's terrific. American thanks to the uber-citrus hop tones (relative newcomers Apollo, Citra and Simcoe, for the record); French due to the heavy oak/Chardonnay presence; and Belgian thanks to the wonderfully funked-up yeast and clean, saison-like graininess. All combines to equal an exotic, electric, vibrant aroma like no other.

There's a heavy grapefruit element at the forefront of the taste, which pulls along with it the tell-tale fruity-and-funky treasures of Brettanomyces yeast (you know you're a lost cause when you can type Brettanomyces without looking at anything for help). Big blasts of tart lemonade, Chardonnay (and white wine-soaked wood), crisp green apple, lime, and something very, very earthy, in a twisted sort of way (again, the Brett speaking). Hops are big, and bitter, but just as well-incorporated alongside everything else, keeping Bitter Monk from feeling/seeming/drinking like a novelty. Reading the label, and thinking "Belgian IPA," I assumed some pineapple flavor would come into this before I had my first bottle several days ago. I don't quite get that, because it lacks that kind of sweetness...but having said that, it lacks nothing. It's fantastic.

Dry as a bone, partly thanks to the oak barrel use, I presume, and that perfectly matches the crisp medium body, the fruity/funky finish and the main tastes on the tongue.

Maybe it's splitting hairs, or focusing on things that don't truly matter, but the label's claim that this is a "Belgian-style Double IPA" is a little misleading. "Massive malt infusion" reads the back label. Really? Of course there's a lot of malt, but it still plays a mere supporting role. There just isn't enough of that sweet malty variable that partly defines a double IPA. But that's about all that wrong with this thing. And really, confining it to any style is futile -- this is one of the most unique, original and exciting beers to emerge from the U.S. craft scene in a while. I enjoyed the heck out of each bottle, and have to admit it was totally worth the $15.99 price tag.

Poured from a corked and caged bottle into an orval chalice.

White head, quickly receding though lingers, small bubbles.
Lots of citra aroma in the nose, a nice amount of sweet and bret sour. The citra and bret funk really go well together.

As to the taste- all I can say is wow, what an overload (not in a bad way). There is a ton going on from the beginning of the taste to the finish. Lots of sour initially, and its thread lasts throughout the taste. mild belgian esters from mid to finish, and a solid hop bitterness on the finish- the 100ibu is definitely present. Medium mouthfeel I guess.

Wow, what a beer. I had seen these beers at whole foods and total wine for the last month but the price had really driven me off. After seeing some threads on reddit's beer forum piling on the high praise I figured I'd drop $13 on it and give it a shot- and what a beer this is. This beer has a shit ton going on in it, but I think this cacophony ends up working out. Definitely worth getting at least once- I'm thinking about about buying another bottle or two to age and see what it is like once it has a few years on it (and once the hops have died down).

750ml bottle poured into a Tulip Glass.

A - Pours a hazy light gold with a soapy white head that fades to a slight patch and ring.
S - Intense tropical hop aromas of passion fruit, pineapple, mango, and peach with a touch of white grape, oak, and Brettanomyces. Absolutely stunning!
T - Taste is similar to the nose, tons of tropical hops, white wine, oak, and funky, earthy Brettanomyces character. Surprisingly easy-drinking, I could have probably finished off this bottle by myself!
M - Crisp and dry, with a medium body and good, sharp carbonation.
O - Right out the gate, this Anchorage Brewing Co. is doing some amazing things. Complex, funky, and delicious, I can't wait to see what's next!

Poured from the bottle a hazy nectarine-yellow with two fingers of rich and rocky off-white head. Tons of lacing left behind.

Aroma of Juicyfruit gum, Belgian yeast, white wine, lemon and fresh earth.

Much like the aroma, tastes of Juicyfruit gum, tart lemon, white wine, Belgian yeast and a hint of spiciness. Finishes with a light medicinal tang. The 9% alcohol is well hidden in this one.

Lighter bodied and dry with a sharp carbonation.

I loved this beer. A lot of character and personality in every sip. Anchorage Brewing is doing a lot of things right.

Picked this up at Connecticut Avenue in DC. Served in a Mikasa tulip.

Pours a moderately-hazed apricot-orange with a killer white head that lasts nearly throughout. As it slowly recedes, there's plenty of lacing left in its wake.

The nose is extraordinary from the start. Lots of fresh fruit notes. It immediately reminds me of Super Friends with the combination of tropical and citrus hops plus the nice Brett twang. Beautifully intertwined. The flavor continues on from there with the same hop notes plus a bit of pineapple and grapefruit. Light funk underneath the hits, providing a nice dryness to the finish, which goes along quite well with the hoppy bitterness.

All in all, really a fantastic beer. I quite liked Whiteout Wit, but this beer really went to the next level.

A: The beer is cloudy yellow in color and almost resembles a variant of lemonade. It poured with a finger high white head that has good retention properties and consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: There are moderate to strong aromas of sourness in the nose along with some hints of citrusy hops.
T: The taste is quite sour but is also very balanced with the underlying malts so it isn’t overpowering. It is also complex with flavors of citrus and grapes.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate to high amount of carbonation. There are some hints of dryness in the finish.
O: This beer is very well balanced and the sourness and complex flavors make it a very interesting beer to sip.

Pours a hazy, opaque orange/yellow. Bright white head, nice sporadic lace. BIG funk! It's almost tart, but tows the line beautifully. Some citrus, but the hops can't overpower the funk. The taste is where it's at though. Big funk still, BUT, it's wonderfully bitter, with plenty of citrus, bordering on tart...towing the line yet again. Getting some subtle oak and dry wine notes. Crisp, almost effervescent carbonation. Crisper than it technically should be, but it works. Their Love Buzz Saison wasn't this crisp, but I wish it were!

Damn. I've been infected with Brett...and I like it. I still hate sours, but Brett beers are quickly becoming a thing of beauty to me. This Bretted IPA is blissful.

pours a hazy, glowing, peachy, light honey color with a white head that holds and leaves tons of lace. very pretty. nose is bright, fresh fruit up front. mainly pineapple and grapefruit with hints of pear in the background as well as orange. wine barrel and hops are intertwined extremely well in the nose, and... taste as well. fruit all over the place harmonizing with phenolic yeast spice. malt sweetness peeks it's head through and plays with the other flavors that are coming off as slightly sweet and very bright. bretty peppery twang in all the right places. this is very well done. finishes dry and light. warming sensation, but to me, miles from hot. well balanced neo-belgo-india-american goodness. very fun hybrid of styles. i like where this brewery is going.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a pint glass. Pours a light golden yellow with a lot of white frothy head. The aroma has lots of citrus, sourness from the Brett, some grassy notes. The taste involves a battle for your taste bud's attention: bitterness from the hops or the sourness from the Brett, certainly a delightful battle to witness. There is also a nice balance of tart and sweetness. The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with nice carbonation, with a nice dry finish.

Overall a quality beer, the brett sourness and bitterness blend very nicely, and the other flavors balance out the beer very well. Looking forward to some more beers from Anchorage Brewing.

A - Poured into a duvel a golden clear pour with a two finger white head that leaves sticky lacing and a blanket.

S - Very nice hops here. Its dank, musty hops followed by bright citra and simcoe with light funk to round things out.

T - Wow more of the tropical wet citra and simcoe hops with dankness as well. There's super Brett there too but this has an amazing balance of hops, malt, and funk. Vinuos too thanks to the Chardonnay barrels.

M - Nice and tart with a solid crispness and delicious dry finish. Super drinkable here...9% no where noticeable.

O - Overall wow! This beer is amazing...wish it wasn't so expensive. Wish I had more as this is a delicious beer. Would love to have more of this as thus is a great blend of style.

Big frothy head 2 fingers, fades semi slowly with some sticky lacing, mostly clear tan golden chardonnay color.

Nose has awesome fruity and funky brett, touch of barnyard, hint of tart fruit, then hops, light citrus and tropical fruit, hint of malt, nice balance of funky fruity brett and tropical fruit hops, pear, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya.

Taste has more of the nose, semi bitter hops, fruit galore, tropical fruit, papaya, pineapple, light pear, apricot, etc. juicy. Then Brett, spicy brett with light barnyard funk, light tart fruit as well, dry bready malt taste. Then a light chardonnay wine taste, mango papaya from the wine, and a hint of buttery oak. Finishes quite dry and more bitter and funky brett, lingering malts and light fruits and light bitter fruity hops.

Mouth is med bodied, good carb, hint of booze.

Overall really nice, the blending of fresh tropical fruit hops, bitterness, fruity brett, biter dry funk and barnyard, etc, done very well, delicious and smooth, dry bitter finish, and all that with a nice chardonnay wine flavor. I could drink lots of this if it was much cheaper.

Poured into DL snifter...

A- First- hells fuck yes to the bottle art, A+++! Pours hazy golden color. Nice off white head. Dense and stable bubbly head. Very nice.

S- Incredibly light and lemony. Funky zest, barnyard, white grapes, floral, and tropical to round it out. Crisp and refreshingly balanced aroma.

T/M- Very very funky. Bitter, but not as hoppy as the nose leads you. Barnyard flavors, old leather, hay, dirty/earthy hops all around. Add a touch of lighter fruitiness (absence could be just that its not super fresh) and this is top notch Belgian IPA. Incredibly dry finish, lot of carbonation, medium body, coates the palate.

O-.Absolutely stellar beer. One of, if not the, best Belgian IPAs I've had. Would love to have again, preferably super fresh. Might try and trade for this down the road. Very refreshing and perfectly balanced brett funk.

Bottle I picked up while in Vegas from the Whole Foods on S Las Vegas Blvd. 750ml bottle corked and caged, Batch 1 from July 2011 - into a tulip.

Poured a hazy golden yellow, we split the yeast amongst us and its sat 'curtain-like' in each of our glasses in suspension. Looked pretty cool! Voluminous white head, very effervescent with a great rocky head and spotty lacing. Nose has pungent lemon, funk/brett, white wine notes, pine, a touch of cat pee, citrus zest and background tropical notes (derived from the Citra I'll guess). Alot of grassy notes as well, somewhat of a Noble hop character to it. Certainly extremely unique for a DIPA. Taste again has substantial lemon, tropical fruits with light tart and vinous/barrel notes. Herbal hops again with less brett than the nose. Light spiciness in the finish, certainly a solid amount of Belgian and brett flavours all around - works phenomenally with the hop profile. Bitterness is there but not overpowering. Fantastic, and I'll most certainly seek out future batches if given the chance.

A: Pours a cloudy golden yellow with an ample fluffy white head
S: Smells of citrus a little acetic acid, some yeast as well
T: faint citrusy hop flavor with a little bit of sourness, some yeast flavor and a bit of flavor from the wine barrel. Aftertaste is of hop resin and yeast
M: average mouthfeel for an IPA, soft carbonation makes this one very drinkable
O: Very good, I wish it was fresher but it tastes very good at its current state. Very smooth and refreshing and highly drinkable.

Thanks to RSVP in Portland, Maine I was able to give this classy brew a try. It's a very cloudy yellowish tan colored brew with a solid white head and tons of lacing. The aroma is an unparelleled yeasty medley that includes slightly skunky lemon wheat highlights and subtle clove. Very impressive, classy and kind of unique. The flavor happily falls right in place with the aroma. Clovey nuances over wheat with sweet, near bubblegum hops. Wow, just so tasty with mild banana-lemon and tons of yeasty zest. Just delicious and oozing quality and delight! Finely carbonated but with a full, luscious feel. As advertized this is a real winner if you're any kind of fan of this style. I can agree with some of the other reviewers that this may not be a classic Belgian IPA, but to me that's a good thing. I really like more of the American-Belgian hybrid and perhaps that is somewhat the case here. I'm not enough of an expert to say, but i do know I love this stuff.

Anchorage Brewing is quickly becoming the pretty girl on the block. Everything they allow me to taste seduces my palate and entrances me with its high level of complexity, full tart-bitter interplay, and powdery acidity that's impossible to refuse. What's there not to like with all that layered onto an imperial IPA base recipe?

The beer pours with a creamy lightness that captures a stern golden hue. As the refined carbonaiton separates from the citrusy liquid beneath, it builds a creamy, cottony foam that proves formidable of both Belgian ales and IPAs. Sticky lace adorns the glass evenly and artistically. This is a highly aesthetically appealing beer!

Mouthwatering aromas of citrus and tropical fruit provides a sweet and sour interplay that tingles the nose with lemons, limes, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, and mangos. Acidic white wine and white grapes continue to wash the nose with wave after wave of complex aromatics. Thin honeyish caramel notes inform the sweeter citrus notes but never seem sweet unto itself.

Creamy, sweet and dry all at the same time- the beer seems to put on a magic show in the mouth. Like "Pop Rocks" candy, the sweet, sour, musty, acidity pulls the taste buds in a lot of directions. Dried lemons and oranges provide a woodish dust taste to complement the zesty citrus notes. Savory sweetness of "Hawaiian Punch" seem to strike the sensetivities of the teeth and gums, and then make me beg for more. Finish with a bone-dry malt taste, the hops carry the beer with smooth bitterness and wineish vinous wood notes.

Creamy from start to finish, but the fine carbonation and dry malt textures evade sweetness in the mouthfeel. The beer is arid, and seems to float just above the tongue, but caresses the palate all at the same time- in true Belgianesque fashion. As the beer dissolves at mid palate, the cotton candy textures carry a whimsical perfume into the gullet and beyond. Powdery wood astringency, evaporation alcohol, and the dry malt-hop interplay keeps me revisiting the glass much quicker than a nine-percent beer should.

With the care and attention to brewing details, Anchorage is proving time and time again that they are not simply content to meet the standards of Belgo-American ales, but far exceed them. Wine barrels, brettanomyces, triple fermentation, exclusive hops and technique cause a ton of work for small rewards- but its far worth it!
