A light orange marmalade cropped with a white, creamy top, it looks damn delicious! Bubbles fizz up from the bottom of my Allagash signature as if it were Dom in a champagne flute.

I smell some bretty spice--maybe cloves, orange zest, and chrysanthemum. There's a bready, malt-like floral aroma to this unique saison. The nose ain't nearly as cool as the look, but it remains appealing....

Zingy carbonation tingles my cheeks as wild brett yeast plays like artisinal bread on my palate. I really struggle to get that Pinot noir influence, and that's a disappointment. There's some zestiness that's either fruit or Brett...or both. The more I sip, the more I conclude it's a Red & White wannabe. It's fizzier like a saison should be, but there's nowhere near the tasty spice of say a Saison du Buff. It feels better than it tastes, but both would benefit from a touch more spice and wine (or spicy wine).

Overall, it's an expensive ass beer--some $18.99 for the big corked/caged 750. It's cool, and I'm grateful it made it here from Alaska--picked it up from Tylers in Carboro--and I think I'd try it again...but I dont think I'd buy it again.

Poured from bottle into HF Tulip. Not sure of the year bottled, but im assuming 2013.
Popped cork and brett funk filled the nose (and I opened this outside!)
Pours a nice golden color with a healthy froathy head. Really nice carbonation.
Aromas of brett funk, slight floral notes, and a tad of caramel or sweet notes maybe??
Taste is fruity brett funk with a definite floral punch...a nice sweet fruity caramel finish. The typical saison like flavors are somewhat muted but still know its a saison.
Its really dry...pretty much perfect. I mean this is an absolute perfect mouthfeel for me. Really nice carbonation, dry, but still chugable with a bitter kick to finish.
Overall, this is an amazing brew as you can expect from Gabe. Really freakin awesome!

Despite a fairly underwhelming hue and carbonation, this is a well balanced sour ale. The nose is fine blend of barnyard funk and fresh hops - a little different than the usual saison. The wild yeast comes through again on back of the tongue and is joined by light fruit - raspberries perhaps? The finish is dry yet lingers.
