The folks here are very knowledgeable and friendly. The staff had been make wine and beers for years. They have a passion for serving the public by sharing their extensive experience.

It looks as if almost everything on their website is available for pickup right in the store.

Their website touts them as the "First and finest" I would say the one and only. If there's another LHBS within a 45 min drive I do not know of it....

That being said, the selection is pretty good. I would say this is a wine store first, and a beer store second, but they still have a fair amount of stuff. The guy I talked to was friendly, and the manager/owner(?) was busy with another customer while I was there, but I could here their conversation as well, and it sound like the knew his stuff.

Everything is clean, and organized. Prices are ok, not great, but not horrible either...

For starters, I have been homebrewing for a few years now and Quality Wine and Ale Supply has made it easy for me. I made the switch to all-grain brewing again and the advice the store workers gave me was spot on. Their willingness to grind grain helped reduce worry about how fine to grind.

That being said, I have mixed opinions about the store. It is the only homebrew shop in reasonable driving range so I will continue to patronage, but the service leaves me feeling annoyed on a regular basis. The suggestions are normally right on, but usually done in a condescending manner. I may be overreacting. The other issue is that the store is tiny and therefore most things are kept in back. Without their website, it is hard to know what they keep in stock.

Overall, I like this store and probably just am nick-picking over small issues. The website is truly an useful source as well as the store clerks. Recommend, but would not mind a store in South Bend.
