12 oz bottle into tall glass. This is a Dortmunder Lager according to the bottle, not an American Pale Lager. (I'm sure this will be updated)

Appears golden in color, a very nice shade, and very clear despite the fact that there is a layer of yeast in the bottle. Must be a super flocculant strain. A 2 inch tall head forms on top and there's good retention throughout the session. Some lacing left behind as well.

Aroma is pretty standard for the style. I'm getting some grainy bread notes and a nice florally/herbal hop note. There's a very slight fruit note that I can't really describe but it doesn't seem to be a flaw, just adds some complexity.

Taste is quite nice too. Very clean overall but the hops definitely come through as the main role player here. Which is not to say that it's a hoppy beer, the malt definitely stands up to them, but in the end it's the Styrian Goldings that is left to linger in my mouth.

Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, with a medium-light body.

Overall a really nice beer. Nice to see some good lagers, especially locally. I wish it were in 6 packs so it was more affordable. It just doesn't seem right to pay $5 for a bomber of 5%ABV lager, since that's like paying $15 for a little less than a 6 pack. Put it into sixers LBC and I will buy!

Darker yellow, almost light brown, which is quite dark for a lager. Arrived with little head that quickly dissipated, leaving a light lacing in the glass.

The smell is all about classic lager yeast: bready and rich, but not overpowering. Pleasing nose; I can imagine fresh bread rising.

Taste is powerfully of bread yeast with a peppery note on the front of the tongue, malts and yeasts are the stars here, with enough hops to balance but without any distinct hop flavor dominating.

It is a bit thin, but it stood up to the burger I was having; very drinkable and yes, thank you, I will have another.

Star City Lager is a new beer LBC promises to bring back if it is well received. Superior to the "Dog Days of Summer" lager.
