Poured from 750 mL bottle into tulip.
A: Pours a clear golden yellow with moderate carbonation producing a 2 inch bubbly white head. Good retention.
S: Mild mineral funk, sweet herbal grass (coriander and lemon verbena), barnyard mustiness, white pepper, and salt. Nicely complex.
T: Peach, soft mineral funk, herbal notes (coriander, mint, and lemon verbena), salt, and white pepper. Note quite up to the aroma and the salt note was a detractor for me.
M: Light body. Soft and lightly sweet. Salty with an herbal astringency. Mild tart note too.
D: An interesting take on the style. Not the best example for my tastes (salty). I do like the overall construction of the brew.

From a 650 ml bottle to a nonic. Reviewed from notes dated July 10, 2014.

A-The beer is clear and light-golden in color with a few streams of carbonation floating up to the head. A normal pour produces about one and one-half fingers of white foam. The head is sticky and leaves some lacing on the glass.

S-The aroma is salty and briny, though not overpowering. There is a bit of grain, some husk, a touch of spice, and a mild lemon tartness. It is making me thirsty to sniff this stuff.

T-The taste is similar to the aroma. There is an odd grainy sweetness up front with some lemon tartness, as well as a subtle but distinct salty flavor that you would expect from a gose. The back end is more full-bodied with a light malt body and some citrus. The finish is clean and drying.

M-The beer is incredibly easy to drink with a lighter body and mild to moderate carbonation.

O-This beer has a few low points that detract from what is a very drinkable example of the style. The grainy aroma hurts the score, but the nice, clean feel almost makes up for it. The salt level here is moderate and the citrus flavors add some nice complexity. Overall, this is a good beer, but I just don't love it.

Big yeast in this sour tasting gose. Some lemon coming through, slight spice as well. Very bready without question. Not a big sour beer, not very puckering. But a good overall sour beer. It doesn't lack taste, just not as big as I wanted the sour to be..
