375ml bottle poured into an Almanac stemmed glass.

The beer pours a hazy golden color, cloudy and fizzy with a light and bubbly white head, about a finger or so high that has poor retention and leaves no lace. The aroma is okay, fruity but minerally, definitely get the pluot, tart and tangy, it's ripe and has some nice citrusy notes but there is a bit of a sulfuric presence that is mildly off putting. The flavors are nice, very mineral heavy at the front, light funkiness and acidity before the fruit character, nice and fleshy, very apricot forward moreso than plummy, but there is some darkness to the fruit at the back where some citrus sourness and light pale grain comes over. The mouthfeel is good, very lively and carbonated that coats the mouth well, nice body to the beer that finishes with some nice sharpness and tangy pucker.

Verdict: A nice fruited sour beer from Almanac. The fruit is certainly showcased well and brings out some nice depth of fruit flavors across a nice spectrum but the sulfuric quality in the nose and heavy mineral flavors aren't my favorite.

Really well made and balanced fruited sour. So difficult to find balanced american wild ales these days. This beer has a nice deep blonde color with one finger dense white head. The smell is inviting with some light acidity like a freshly cut piece of fruit. The finish on this beer is distinctly pluot. You get the tartness from the skin of the fruit that comes off as the dryness from a plum and then some balancing sweetness from the apricot. Well carbed and bright tartness at the start with a well balanced finish. High marks.
