Valencia Gold is an aromatic Belgian-style ale that celebrates the vibrant and pioneering history of San Francisco’s sunny Mission District. This imperial ale is brewed with fragrant orange blossom honey and fresh Valencia Oranges from California’s Central Valley and dry-hopped with tangerine-scented Mandarina Bavaria hops. Pour this pure California sunshine into your favorite tulip glass and enjoy with fresh Dungeness Crab or winter citrus salads. ¡Salud!

22oz into imperial pint.
A: Pours a clear golden with a thick and airy white head that slowly faded into a thick a fluffy film. A network of thick chunky lace was left down the glass.
S: Orange dominates the nose with sugar scents of orange nectar, floral orange blossom, and sweet honey. The malt is bready and light, with peppery and spicy yeast rounding it out.
T: Follows the nose with sweet and sugary orange and honey flavors mixed with earthy, peppery spice, and bready creamy grains. The finish has a balancing amount of bitter citrus hops, and the aftertaste is spicy and sugary. Very slightly medicinal quality.
M: Medium-full body, soft and fluffy carbonation, slightly sharp mouthfeel from the spicy yeast and bitter hops, but drinks fairly smooth overall.
O: Definitely an orange lovers beer. Flavors were a little too sweet for me, but overall I enjoyed this one.

On tap at Brasserie V in Madison, Wisconsin. Served in a stemmed glass. Poured a medium hazy golden-yellow body, thick one finger white head, good retention, some lacing. Smells of Belgian yeast ester, minerals, a bit of citrus, caramel and a light graininess. Flavour follows the nose, with more of the Belgian yeast ester coming on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, lighter on the carbonation, rich citrus and mineral flavour, a bit on the heavy side for the flavour profile.

I like this batter than the score might look. Its definitely got a pretty gold color. Very little head. The honey and orange is there but not obnoxious. There is sulfur in. The nose and taste. Little, but its there. Its the type of beer you probably like most when you drink several in a sitting.

A - Pours a clear golden color, one finger of head that settles to a nice white cap.
S - All I smell are Belgian yeasts and a little banana..
T - A very pleasant if ordinary Belgian strong flavor. I don't pick up any citrus or mandarin orange flavor. Alcohol is well hidden, not boozy at all.
M - Creamy mouth feel.
O - This is a pretty good beer - I'd drink it again - but I was hoping for a mandarin orange kick.

Very much a belgian strong ale. The belgian yeast is upfront cloves and banana is what I'm getting here. A slight hint of citrus peels. Alcohol is hidden well. Can't find any honey but who cares still a great beer.
