HUGE thanks to KevSal for not only this beer, but an entire box worth's of beers

A - pours a pale straw yellow color with a soft white head that leaves spotty lacing on the glass

S - nose is sweet pit fruit - tangerine and peaches - with the strawberries barely detectable; also some citric sour notes and bretty funkiness hangs over everything else

T - taste starts off with sour and citric spritz. For some reason, some flavors fall out in the middle, then a wallop of sour fruits, especially the nectarine and a lot of citrus flavors. The brett funk and red wine barrel notes round off the palate, however some of the strawberries come through on the exhale. Really nice sour ale here!

M - soft, spritzy, and a dry finish

D - overall, this is a really nice beer. Nice fruit flavors, wine barrel character, and bretty funk all mixed into one, albeit I wish the fruit was a little more forward than it was. That being said, awesome beer!

Poured from a bottle into a lost abbey teku glass
has golden color and about 1/4 inch head on it
smell has that farmhouse funk and fruit
very slight tart taste at first and smooth crisp nice mouthfeell
can tell it was aged in wine barrels as it has that taste on the back end
followed by a taste of strawberries on the very back end
easily drinkable and very enjoyable would definitely get again

375ml bottle. didnt see a bottling date.

Pours a hazy orange, / reddish color with a white foamy bubbly head. The nose on this beer is out of this world with a massive hit of strawberry tartness that you hits you right after you pop open the bottle. The taste is also superb...though the strawberry flavor is a bit less pronounced than on the nose. The tartness is perfect, just the right amount for me. Standard feel and body for this kind of beer. Real easy drinking, the bottle disappears too quick!

overall this is what cascade's Strawberry SHOULD have been. It's quite excellent and reminds me a lot of consecration but with strawberries instead of cherries. A must try.

First Almanac offering, thanks akang! I'm fucking hyped.

375ml Bottle poured in Tired Hands wine glass

A: Orange. gold tint. Pretty hazy and well carbonated. Half an inch foamy head, clinging to the glass. Some yeasties floating around in the bottom of the glass.

S: Strong smell as soon as I cracked the bottle. Crazy amount of strawberry and stone fruits in the nose, but I'm also able to pick up on the citrus/zesty aromas in this. Following are the cocktail of wild belgian yeasts and very nice oak. Pretty funky on the nose. Excited.

T: This is one of the only sours I've had made with fresh strawberries, and I'm really fuckin' happy drinking this. The strawberries are coming through nicely with the light, biscuity malts. Picking up on the white wine and citrus(nectarines) towards the end.

M: It's refreshing, fruity and incredible easy to drink. I think the carbonation is pretty spot on. Get some for ya ma

O: This beer impressed me, and I am happy to have more Almanac sours/barrel aged beers coming my way. It's drinking great right now, the strawberries/nectarines are shining. but that doesn't mean to say this beer won't improve/or change with age. Although it is funky, and satisfyingly sour right now, it's wild, and will only continue to get it funky. If your in it for the fruit, I'd pop that fucker open now. Real quality beer.
