If you're not ride-sharing, parking in this neighborhood might be a little intimidating, but the walk isn't unpleasant no matter which way you come from, as it's very pedestrian-oriented. Just be patient, drive around, and a spot will open up somewhere. Once you walk by the place, at least in my experience, it might look fairly busy, as it seems to be very popular to sit out on the well-entertained patio, which has more TVs than I think I've ever seen for an outdoor seating area. Even still, it probably has plenty of seating available once you get inside.

Such was the case when we got here and plopped right at the entirely empty bar for a drink before heading to the airport. It was the week after GABF, but they still had a pretty banging taplist, as I'm sure they always do. But this time there was a barrel aged Modern Times stout as well as some Russian River wilds that we felt the need to enjoy as a last hurrah to Colorado. The menu is otherwise very IPA focused, and for good reason--the locals just eat that shit up. I thought IPA had kind of burned itself up at least a little bit, but not around here man. Everywhere you go it's all anyone wants, so I guess the IPA memes aren't overkill after all.

The vibe inside is pretty hardcore dive mixed with sports bar, but it's much smaller in than out. The pizza looked absolutely amazing, alas we had already eaten.

This place has great pizza (especially Detroit style), and an awesome beer list. They host the best tap takeover events during GABF. This helps them build the relationships that they need to take their beer selection to the next level year round!

Simple place, that knows their lane, and crushes it with a mess of tasty pizza options to go along with an extensive list of quality beers on tap … can’t go to wrong with quality, local and fresh IPA from places like Cerebral and New Terrain.

Friendly staff, all in a cozy and informal/casual room, with a bunch of windows out onto the Denver street scene…busy street, but we were able to find parking w/o much stress. Just a few doors down from the equally worth Post Oak BBQ.

Fun place with great beer selection. We went the weekend of GABF. So, it was crowded. Sat outside and enjoyed some Detroit pizza and listened to some music. The beer selection was insane (Maine, Fremont, etc.). Good for kids and dogs and generally anyone who likes beer and pizza!

Stopped in yesterday 6-12-20 for a very late lunch and a pint on our way out to Grand County.

Vibe was all about Covid prevention and keeping everyone safe. Pretty dead given it was after 2:00 pm when we got there.

Quality of the beers was good. I had a Comrade Brewing More Dodge Less Ram IPA which had a classic story about how someone with a Dodge Ram literally crashed into the brewery back in 2016. Da Boss had a local German Pils which she enjoyed.

Service was friendly and fairly efficient.

Selection of drafts was very good, approximately 20 taps, a mix of local and regional brews, plus a lot of canned and bottles to choose from.

Food was a mixed bag. Da Boss had the Southwestern Chicken sandwich which i had part of last night - it was too dry. I had the Pulled Pork which was good and different as the sauce was Thai inspired which was sweet and spicy.

Overall glad we stopped as it was convenient as we needed to stop at Small Batch Liquors, which is on the same street as Hops & Pie, to pick up some beers i ordered online.

V-Hops & Pie is located on a busy and currently-hip stretch of Tennyson in the Berkeley neighborhood, which is northwest of downtown Denver by a few miles. We visited around 7:45 pm on a rainy, cold Wednesday night in May...and the place was crowded. We waited 20 minutes for a table, which is less than normal, but impressive for the weather and date/time. The crowd was mostly younger, i.e., under 40, with very few families. Hops and Pie is pretty small. It has two rooms separated by a wall that runs most of the room and there is a smaller bar in one room with tables stuffed in tight. It has a bit of an old-school pizza-place, casual feel. Nothing unusual or weird, but friendly and upbeat.

Q-The beers on offer are pretty unique and all from well-established craft breweries or local places with good reputations. Very strong list with some beers that you won't find elsewhere in Denver.

Ser-Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. Her upbeat attitude matched the vibe of the place. Glassware was appropriate for the beers and they offered samples, which is nice. I have to deduct a little bit because service was a little sluggish at first; we waited five minutes after sitting down before someone came to our table.

Sel-While the quality of beers on offer was great, don't come here expecting to have 100 beers on tap or a 25-page list of bottles. They aren't lagging too far behind -- they have about 20 taps of good beer and a decent bottle list -- but this is not Falling Rock.

F-The lady friend and I had salad a pizza, which seems appropriate for a place called Hops & PIE. The salad greens were fresh and crisp (for Colorado) and the pizza was decent, but not mind blowing. I would rate the pizza here one step above the Crafty Fox for those keeping track.

O-Fun joint with great beers and a long wait at the door.

My type of place, kinda old school craft beer vibe going on. Probably one of the
best tap lists I've seen in a while! All the bases were covered! Red Poppy on tap come on! The food and service equaled the beer list. If I lived in Denver I'd be here weekly.

This place iss a must visit when you go to Denver, hell....even if your in Colorado. You definitely need to make a trip out there. Their food is amazing, personally my favorite is the pizza. I like to get the Blackberry BBQ sauce, with double serving of the Beer Braised Beef Brisket on it. The tap list is pretty well done, usually 20-25 taps, but always a stellar selection; DFH to Abraxas, to West Coast and East Coast IPAs, to stout and old ales from around the country. Again, this is a must visit location.

This is a really cool craft establishment in the heart of Denver's hip neighborhoods. The beer selection was phenomenal as it was GABF week. The staff is very friendly, accommodating considering the crazy crowds, and the food is amazingly delicious!

This has become a must-stop for me. Cheap and tasty pizza, good specials and happy hour deals and a good selection of beers on tap.

If it's available, try their beer cheese soup. You can't go wrong with the slices here either. Flights are a good call if you can't decide from the beer menu. Prices are fair.

I suspect I'll always make a stop here when in Denver.

The beer is only out shined by the people! All the food is amazing, so freaking good. Take a step away from the pie and try their sandwiches, you will not be disappointed. On Saturday before 5 o' clock get 3 beers and 2 slices for a mere $16 such a deal.

Great location and great food. Service can be sometimes slow when it's crowded (which it often is) but the beer selection is always incredible. Approximately 20-25 taps or so and bottles as well. Pizza is killer and local lunch special is always worth the price. Incredible value if you can tolerate the wait. Tennyson area has a great vibe too if you can ignore all the hipster/bros.

Always a great place for a great pie and an awesome tap list. Be prepared to wait a while for a table for dinner, especially on the weekend. Start out here for lunch and hit the other breweries in the area.

A great little place in a cool area in Denver. I wish I hadn't just had breakfast before going here. The tap list wasn't huge but it has quality and the service was excellent. Worth a stop.

Went to Hops & pie for Sour Fest on March 28th.

Awesome place. They moved through a line quickly to get us in the door. Great service, good pizza, and great beer.

Cantillon on tap amongst other world class sours. Also had Parabola and Alpine Duet on tap.

Love this place. Great craft beer selection on rotation. Lots of local brews with a strong selection from other states. The pizza is very good. The sandwiches are tasty. But the surprise winner is the tacos, sooo good. Get there early because its small and gets busy with a quickness.
