Picked this up at a great beer shop in Darmstadt, Germany, Maruhn Welt der Getränke. Cloudy yellow-orange pour with a one finger white head with decent retention and nice lacing. Very unique, hop-forward nose. I'm not familiar with any of the hops used (Hallertauer Comet, Hallertauer Saphir, Hallertauer Taurus), but they remind me a lot of stuff from New Zeland. Very pungent and perfumey with hints of citrus and subtle green onion. The taste is also very hop-forward and unique. Nice sweet caramel malt base adds balance to the resiny, tangy hops. Hints of pine, grapefruit, tangerine, grass, green onion, lemon, and orange peel. The mouthfeel is juicy, sharp, and tangy but extremely refreshing and drinkable, with great balance. Overall, this was a very pleasant surprise. Very unique and flavorful hops that I will definitely revisit.

330ml bottle poured into La Chouffe tulip.

A: Golden, no head, minimal lacing, lots of floaters.

S: Grapefruit and citrus hops.

T: Followed the nose and added a hint of cork, sharp hit of booze at the finish.

M: Slightly thick texture, minimal carbonation, went down pretty well.

O: A typical American IPA, pleasant and balanced.

BBD of 28.9.16. Poured into a Spieglau IPA glass.

Pale (too much so for an IPA) golden with a three-finger head that fades slowly with moderate lacing. Heavy, heavy yeast sediment, the kind I would expect to see from a fully poured Rochefort 10 if it was this pale. This is to 'yeast sedimenty' what 'hazy' is to some of the more contemporary, popular IPAs. Thankfully, the aroma makes up for the appearance: very fruity, with tropical notes of pineapple, mango. Citrus notes of tangerine and faint peach (think, outer skin) as well. There is a honey-like sweetness underlying the fruitness. The taste is very balanced; it drinks much more similar to the fruity aromas it displays than many German IPAs I've had. In fact, for those who prefer hop bitterness in their IPAs, this one may leave you wanting. As I prefer more balance in mine, this one nails it, as the bitterness at the end is more fresh than harsh. Mouthfeel is a little thick, medium carbonation, and really easy to drink for a 6,8% IPA. Overall, a great IPA, and one of the few German ones I've found so far that doesn't disappoint by being overly bitter.

Pours shiny light orange, small white bubbly head, lasts for a while but just some poor lacing remains.
Hops bring citrus in the smell (lemon, faint grapefruit) and some faint pine. There's also breadiness and a pilsener note in there too.
Bitter taste from start to finish, but not sacrificing other flavors. Mix of oranges, lemon and white bread in the start, developing into grapefruit, low caramel, grass and some pine. Leafy hops, pinch of salt, some woodiness (makes me think of kellerbier a tiny bit). Crispness lasts until the finish, there's also a more than mild bitterness lingering, not very clean.
A bit effervescent, watery at times. Refreshing, easy to drink.
Some new hops for me here, add the bready malts and a somewhat weird body, and the result seems more like a homemade experiment. Tasty enough tho, not bad.

Epic big, foamy head, with cloudy, yellow color. Bursting with lovely aromas, of apricot, peach, kiwi, grapes and honey, which go along exeptional well - smells great. Unusual complexity coming from a noticable taste of berries, merging well with fruity, and hoppy impressions. Taste gets even better, when the malt body becomes recognizable, adding a decent body to the beer. The emerging taste stays long on the palate, without getting washed away by the usual IPA bitterness, with is hardly perceptible at all. In this particual case I do not really miss it, because the decent bitterness adds a refreshing note to the beer, just as the vell balances carbonation, which creates a enjoyable finish. It is easy to drink, because of the restrained bitterness and the well hidden alcohol, but never gets boring thanks to the inclusion of comet hops and an overall well balanced body.

picked up a bottle of this in Bonn, Germany. the lable stood out to me because there is no "IPA's" in Germany, at least i didnt see any at all where i was in west Germany. So i decided to bring one home with me. It was really fantastic. Very cloudy and hazy. nice carbonation and mouth feel. almost bready and chewy like a hefe, but crisp and juicy like an IPA should be. the hop notes were very very citrusy and earthy. little bit of pine and a nice amount of resins in there. really wish i had grabed two of these, next time i will. definately recomend trying this out if you come across them. Got mine in Bonn, Germany.
