Picked this up at a great beer shop in Darmstadt, Germany, Maruhn Welt der Getränke. Clear mahogany-red pour with a two finger beige head with decent retention and nice lacing. The nose is sweet and malty with hints of caramel, brown bread, toffee, subtle bubblegum and banana, and brown sugar. The taste follows suit with lots of sweet caramel malt along with hints of banana, pineapple, brown bread, toffee, brown sugar, and bubblegum. The mouthfeel is thick and syrupy with a slightly off-putting metallic finish. Overall, this was a very unusual beer. It had some characteristics of a Red Ale as well as some from a Weizen. The alcohol was well hidden, but it was a tad too sweet and heavy for me.

Hazy dark amber pour, a nice creamy beige head that recedes slowly enough to leave nice sticky curtains on the side of the glass.
Tons of caramel in the smell, apple mash, plum, overripe oranges, a bit of booze warmth, toffee, some forest berry jam, some cake spices.
Sticky sweet caramel up front, with a sour note underneath, not entirely citrusy but kinda sour grainy, a bit reminding of borscht. Some toffee and fruit as it mellows down, with banana, overripe red apple and some berries. Gets bready towards the finish, still sweet and malty, with some dark spices too. A bit of hop in the finish, not bitter enough to cut off the sweetness.
Medium to light body, medium carbonation, but still quite "chunky". Alcohol is hidden nicely underneath all the sweet aftertaste, bready and a bit fruity at the same time.
It's a bit chaotic, with ups and downs and some weird notes, fortunately easy to go around them. A different beer that won't leave you wanting more in the end, but you won't be sorry you had it either way.

Small, soon vanishing head, color is of a murky brown-red.

Sweet malt and hops aromas of ripe, red fruits, which stay in an interesting balance to each other.

Bready, earthy malts define the flavors during the beginning. Fruity hops, heading in a stone-fruit direction, become recognizable, but stay a bit beneath the maltiness. Metallic, high carbonation creates a contrast to the warming impression of this medium-bodied beer, adding a refreshing hint to it, as this diminishes the syrupy sweetness. Slick, gentle bitterness crawls on the palate, without distracting from the overall, malty, impression. Bitterness inherits a a vivid sting, due to the revealing carbonation, which becomes even more present than the malt-backbone during the finish.
