1 pint 6 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap purchased at Ramirez Liquors in Los Angeles California and served into me Guinness goblet in me gaff. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average; I've never had a beer from this brewery but I quite fancy the style.

Served refrigerator cold and allowed to warm over the course of consumption. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a two finger head of slight cream, decent thickness, bad lacing, and good retention for the 8% ABV. Colour is a murky nontransparent dirty orange-copper. No yeast particles are visible. Non-opaque. No bubble show.

Sm: Light hints of citrus esters. cream, some orange peel, yeast, diluted malts (almost lactic somehow), clove, and banana. The clove and banana seem to come from the yeast. A mild strength aroma. Not great for a tripel, but to style. Underwhelming.

T: Strangely lactic and milky for a tripel, with overdone clove and banana from the yeast; perhaps the fermentation temperature was off (likely too high). Disappointingly, no yeast comes through. Clean malts add nothing of substance to the flavour profile. Some cream on the open emerging from the foam. Of all things, clove is dominant. Some tingly spice is present. All around there's rather little going on in this beer. Not at all complex or subtle. Badly balanced and built for the style.

Mf: Smooth and wet, with some cream. Too thick for the style, but it suits the beer. Slightly overcarbonated.

Dr: Drinkable but boring and bland. A decent attempt from an upstart brewery, but very disappointing all around. They got the style dead wrong. A change of yeast and careful moderation of fermentation temperature is needed. It's okay, but I certainly wouldn't get it again. I'll try other beers from this brewery, but so far I've yet to be impressed. Overpriced, even here in California.

A poor candidate for aging.

Drinks okay out of a goblet, but there's likely a better serving vessel (I don't think a snifter is the answer either).

Heavy chill hazed amber with a small white head. Too cloudy it has had 2 day in the chill chest to settle and it wasn't over-cooled or anything.

Smell is sweet and spicy with a strong Lemon, Vanilla and Caramel smell. Slight scent of smoke, like burned sugar.

Starts out neutral in sweetness with a sharp hop bitterness. Almost tastes like a bock beer the bitterness is way up there but so is the sweetness, it more or less balances out. Mostly just malt and a heavy dose of noble hop to balance it out.

Mouthfeel is OK.

Overall not that good. Not a beer I will buy again.

Almost two fingers of head on a cloudy, dark straw colored body.
The aroma is all barnyard. It’s not the nicest smell but it’s exactly a barnyard.
The taste is light with mild lemon bitterness, a little banana and not much else.
The texture is soft with moderate carbonation and medium body.
A fairly average ale. It’s not bad but there’s nothing to remember it by.

22oz bomber. No date, but this is a fairly new beer. Served in a tulip.

Pours a medium-dark orangish gold. Clear at first and then cloudy with yeast at the end of the bottle. Only about a finger of off-white foam formed and then settled to ring. Bits of lacing.

Aroma is definitely Belgian tripel, with sweet candi sugar and spicy yeast. The label claims additional hop varietals, and I get some west coast citrusy notes, especially orange and pineapple.

Supremely sweet on initial flavor, there is a lot of sugar in there. Middle is a little spiky and tingles a bit. Finishes moderately bitter. The sweetness never leaves the flavor, as if refined sugar was melting on your tongue. Alcohol sticks its head out in the finish and sours the flavor a little. Not overly harsh, but noticeable.

Medium-full bodied with low soft carbonation. A touch syrupy.

This beer didn't knock me out, but it's an adventurous outing from a new California brewery and I salute that! Looking forward to what comes next.

Hazy apricot gold color in the tall tulip. Very fragrant nose of mango and peach. Decent foam.

Quite malty and fruity to start. It does have a blast of hops, but stops short of total bitterness. More of a Belgian IPA. Sharp like fruit brandy. Very carbonated on the tongue. A hint of IHOP apricot pancake syrup with a dash of bitters. Quite sippable, but it gets plenty acidic after a while. Quite hoppy in the aftertaste.

On tap at Local Habit in San Diego.

Bottle without any date, received in the Poker BIF-

Appearance- After a huge hiss when I cracked the cap, it poured a clear, orange-yellow, fairly bright, with a massive, rocky head. Left some nice lacing around the glass, and the head stuck around for quite a while

Smell- Belgian yeast and lemon up front, but a very sweet lemon, which combines with a bready note to almost smell like one of those frosted lemon cookies. It doesn't smell bad, but the two make a strange combo

Taste- Huge Belgian candy sweetness up front. The sweet lemon isn't a prevalent in the taste as it is in the nose, but the yeast esters are there. Finishes with a slightly harsh alcohol bite, which is surprising because it's only 8%.

Mouthfeel- Soft and fluffy carbonation, medium body, finishes sticky and very sweet

Overall- It's not the greatest, and to be honest, there aren't really any reasons to drink this when there are other Belgian-style or true Belgian offerings of much higher quality around on shelves everywhere

Appearance: cloudy yellow in color with a 1" head. Some mild lacing paints the glass here.

Smell: spicy pepper and yeast are all you can detect.

Taste: mild malt profile with some fruity sweetness, pepper, and spicy yeast. Bitterness is mild. Alcohol is well hidden.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Lighty crisp throughout. A dryness arrives as you swallow.

Overall: a decent drinking belgian ale.

On-tap at the Crow Burger Kitchen, on to the beer:

There is a slight haze running through this beer. It's a godlen straw color, topped with a head which retains well and leaves spotty lace. Its nose is straight to the sugar, and accents of apricot compliment the sweetness. Fumes of alcohol escape into the aroma. Now to the taste...I'm getting a vague yeasty character. There's a golden fruit aspect to it, bringing apricot notes to the palate. Sugar coated fruit follows it. There's a slight metallic twang in the back. Somewhat boozy, especially when it comes to the mouthfeel, where it's like a "buzzy" booziness. The body is light medium, with low carbonation.

An acceptable tripel out of this San Francisco brewery. This is a style which can swing in either direction, so this result isn't a bad one.

Bomber poured into a tumbler, Triple Voodoo is a dark, dull gold with a small white collar leaving almost no lace.

Smell is sweet and very earthy, woody. I get a flutter of peaty scotch as it warms.

Taste has lots of fruity esters, but a notable noble hop presence, earthy, herbal, spicy. Not bad, blatantly new world take on the style, the punch of hops helps overcome the base tripel, which is average.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, full and fine carbonation.

Drinkability is pretty good, I like the BIPA take on a tripel, I could use a little more elegance to the base, cleaner malt.
