A- Medium brown in color, almost no head, minimal lacing. Served in Tulip ( actually slightly overfilled which may explain minimal head ).

S- Smoke is the first thing that hits followed by the obvious bourbon character from the 1 year aging in barrel. oak and fig fragrance noticeable.

T- Really feel the bourbon at tip of tongue, slightly more smoke than in nose. was served between 55-60F which added to the bourbon feel to me. At times i almost forgot I was drinking a beer, started to sip.

M- Mouthfeel was light and slipery, minute carbonation, sweet alcohol aftertaste. slight caramel aftertaste with the smoke lingering.

O- A bit different but enjoyable, definitely seemed like a beer that was more sippable than most. enjoyed the smoke characters that carried through all phases but were not overpowering by any means. The 1 yeaer aging in Bourbon barrels is clearly evident and is a nice change of pace.

Served on tap at New Albanian's Gravity Head.

Had at Winterfest.

A- Pours a golden brownish color. Half finger tan head shows medium retention. Some streaks here and there from the lace on the glass.

S- Belgian yeast comes out first and foremost ot me which was a little bit of a surprise to be honest. Brown sugar and lightly burnt sugar also come through in hints with undertones from figs, dates, and plums. The smoked aspect of the beer comes only in light hints on the nose with me at times really trying to grasp it.

T- The smoke comes out a lot more in the flavor than the nose. I get a smoked bacon right off the get go with this beer. The begian yeast comes through with more of brown sugar tone added to it. Darker fruits also make a appearance toward the middle to the ending with dates,prunes, and plums really shining. Toffee and caramel malts make a short presence in the beer as well. Alcohol is light and fiting. The smoked flavor comes back for a second time in the ending which I enjoyed.

M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation was a little light at times but it worked for the beer. Palate had hints of smoked bacon, darker fruits, and light yeast. Aftertaste was mostly sweet alcohol, smoked meat, prunes, and fading caramel malts. Flavors were more balanced in the taste than the aroma led on. I don't know how to say if it was really balanced as I've never had anything like this before. No off flavors were present from what I could tell.

D- First time having a beer like this. It was good but different. The ABV kind of makes this beer more of a sipper than anything else. I would love to have it again or maybe if it was even bottled pick up and hold onto a couple.
