A- Poured from the bottle with a huge 3-finger, proteinaceous offwhite head, which was well-retained and produced some super sticky lacing. The body was a ruddy orange amber color, dotted with small bubble trains.
S- Big earthy hop aroma over a big malt backbone. Impressions of dried citrus fruits, grass and a slight, pleasant metallic.
T- A bold melange toasted malt and earthy and piney hop flavor... in nearly perfect balance. The dry finish is surprisingly light on bitterness considering the strong hop flavor. This come across more an an Imperial English IPA... and I'm loving it!
M- A big chewy body, with mild astringency and a soft carbonation. Unbelievably no EtOH heat!
Overall- This super-quaffable beer quite tasty and nicely textured. Deceptively high in alcohol... I would have totally pegged this to be a 7 or 8% beer in a blind tasting. I would definitely reach for this again!

P: 12oz bottle into a perfect pint glass.
A: A cloudy amber color with a two finger creamy tan head. The lacing is awesome, forming rings after each sip all the way down the glass.
S: Lots of caramel malt along with grapefruit and pine hops. It's not super complex but inviting.
T: Wow, the alcohol in this beer isn't shy. You taste it on your tongue as well as in your throat, it's not super intense but I like the alcohol flavors to be more subdued in my beer. Alcohol up front, followed by the caramel malt and citrus rind like hop flavors. A decent balance of all three but the best Imperial beers can hide the alcohol with even higher ABV's than Sneaky Pete.
M: Somewhat heavy, coats your mouth, creamy in texture. Nice.
O: A solid Imperial IPA but not in the top tier of the style. They didn't do a good enough job of hiding the alcohol to make it one of the best. Otherwise it's fairly well balanced and has the malt and hop flavors you'd expect.
