A second location for Uncle Billy's that just recently opened out on Lake Travis in the huge Oasis complex. A great location with a huge outside deck overlooking the lake. Very open brewpub feel inside with a bar, a few TV's and lots of seating. Huge windows provide a great view oout to the lake.

Service was a bit hit or miss but I will chalk a bit of that up to it being relatively new and probably still doing the training stuff. Hopefully it is improved the next time out.

Beer selection was pretty good. They had about 6 of their own beers on tap as well as a short bottle list of other Texas beers. I just ahd their Hop Zombie IPA and I found it to be pretty tasty. The rest of the selection offered a nice mix of styles.

The barbecue was decent enough but far from the best you can find in the Austin area. I would not go back just for the food, but if you throw in the good beers and great location it is certainly a spot worth visiting.

Went to Uncle Billy's for dinner/drinks a few weeks ago while visiting friends down in Austin.

A - Nice atmosphere. Located in the Oasis complex on Lake Travis. Beautiful view of the lake and surrounding hills. Big outdoor patio, with shades to block the sun. Lots of TV's inside if you want to catch a game. Diverse crowd everything from families to social drinkers.
Q - Quality rating reflects good brews. I had the sampler, and the others in our party had various pints. Decent range of styles, well executed, but nothing "spectacular". Nothing that made me want to take a growler home.
S - Service was a bit up and down. Certainly very friendly and checked up on us frequently, but got a few small things wrong with our orders and struggled to describe the beers to us.
S - Good selection for a brewpub. 6-8 of their beers on-tap that ranged over a few styles.
F - Low spot for us. Average BBQ and sides at best. We got the sausage and brisket, other couple got the ribs. Not bad food by any means, just average. The fried pickles were the high point for us.
V - Decent value. Beers were well priced, and the food wasn't too bad either. If we could rate half dollar signs, I'd go 2.5.

We'd go back. Certainly not for the food alone, but the brews and atmosphere raise it up. Worth visiting if you're in the Austin area.
