Drinking it right now and reviewing on my iPhone. It has a nice typical IPA look to it with a decent head. Has nice lacing that stays all the way down the glass. Smells of sweet malts and a nice hop crispness. Tastes nice and hoppy with a good malt balance that is slightly sweet. Mouthfeel has a good carbonation with a nice crispness. Drinkability is ok but I'm not a huge hop head so don't take my word for it. Will have this a few more times as I will be coming here often.

A: Heavy amber/dark copper w/ a nice tight lacing(shows every sip) and great head retension.

S: Earthy-pine aroma. Not much else.

T: A little sweeter than I like, but overall a solid ipa.

M: Coats the tounge w/ sticky sweetness. Needs more hop "snap" imo.

D: Good IPA very similar to Racer 5. I lived in Corona for 4 months this summer and this was my go-to beer. The brewmaster Bob is a really cool guy and he does a great job with his ales! Nice to get fresh craft beer in the Corona/Norco area. Hey Bob if you're reading this I'm the guy that gave you the BP Dorado IPA.

Tasted for the second time at the brewery, 7/16/05. I have tasted a lot of IPAs since I first reviewed this beer a little over a year ago.

Pours a medium golden, with a slight haze. A moderate off-white head drops quickly. Aroma is a medium hop profile that is bitter, oily, grassy, and pine-like. The flavor follows through, with this predominant oily piney hops being just about all I can taste. Refreshing, but does not have the real smooth flowery aromatics/flavors that I like from hoppy beers.

This is a good IPA, and it definitely will do, but there are others that fit my preferred hops style more.

Growler acquired in trade with Hophead22 (thanks!). Hop Daddy for the hopdog.

Poured a medium and hazy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, pine, toasty, and grassy. Tastes of pine, floral hops and some caramel. Aromas was all hops with the tastes having a balance. Pine burbs.

This IPA definitely stands up to the tough competition of Southern California's great IPA's (AleSmith, Ballast Point, Stone, PizzaPort, etc., etc.). I've talked to the brewmaster on many occasions, and he works hard at his craft and does a great job. The Cascade hops do explode, and each sip has a smooth finish and a fine balance with the malt. It's very drinkable and if you're a hophead in search of a Holy Grail, it's worth the trip to Corona, CA.

The Main Street Brewery is an awesome find in Corona. Since moving to Riverside I've felt pretty isolated from the good beer scene.

Hop Daddy is a great IPA that reminds me of Victory's Hop Wallop, not necessarily in the punch of the hops but in the slightly spearmint aftertaste. The aroma has a nice strong nose. This will quickly become my session brew at MSB.

Sampled at the brewery in Corona on 1/3/09, reviewed from notes, was in the mood for something lighter with my pizza, had this along with the hefeweizen and the blonde, this one was in the middle of the pack out of the three, color is a medium orange that is almost an amber, thin 1/2 inch soapy white head that leaves some decent legs, aroma is mild hops, some sugar, minimal citrus, and caramel, grapefruit hit me first which was weird because I could not smell it all, finish needed to be dryer but still had a little pine, not exactly a hophead's preferred type of India pale ale, got sweeter as it warmed, slightly dry and citrusy mouthfeel, medium bodied, moderate carbonation, could drink a few pints of this, pretty light and can be refreshing at times, one of this place's better brews but still nothing going back for, if I did find myself back there, I would probably order this thoug, might be worth trying

Hop Daddy IPA has to be my favorite beer around. In fact, the whole reason that I joined BA was to write this review (j/k). From the minute you walk into the brewery the Hop Daddy calls your name. It is the prefect balance of malt and hops, and hops, and then a little more hops. For all you hop heads out there this is what you've been waiting for. I'm very pleased that the recipe for this IPA has not changed over the years, too. If anything it keeps getting better and better. A few years back Hop Daddy won a silver medal at the GABF. Very impressive. Try this beer with a hot pastrami sandwich (with avocado!).

Appearance: Presented with an orange-copper body topped off with a finger of dirty brown rocky foam. Clarity is excellent

Aroma: Floral hoppy notes dominate with subtle hints of quality malt

Taste: Piney...like a good Left Coast IPA should be! True to the western style, the fore-taste is sharp hop notes followed by a mouthful of rich malt taste. The finish is hoppy and drawn out with the floral onset fading to a more citric ending

Mouthfeel: Chewy, thick and filling...all in a vetry good way!

Drinkability: Big but one-dimensional. A must for hop-heads!

A - Pours a golden yellow with minimal white head. Little lacing present.

S - Aroma of citrus with a little amount of hops present. Malt also noticible.

T - Taste is fairly well balanced, with a bit of pine dominating the profile. Citrus is more subdued than in the nose.

M - Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Good for an IPA.

O - This is actually a great IPA from a small brewery. The beer is well balanced with a solid hop bite. Would love to try a double from them sometime.
