A classic German Wheat Ale, made with the famous Weihenstefan yeast, and German Tettnang hops for that great authentic taste!

Served on-tap at the brewpub itself. On to the beer:

There is some haze in this beer, but that is to be expected. It's wheat field golden colored, and its heads leaves a little bit of lace around the glass. The intensity of the nose is on the lighter side, with a vague lemon and spice getting into the nostrils. However, the flavor makes up for the mediocre aroma. There are some phenols from the yeast, the standard clove and nutmeg flavors, a pleasant malted wheat base, all brought in on a crisp, light wave. I imagine this being an excellent choice during Phoenix's many 100+ degree days.

L:Poured a hazy golden-tan with a weak one finger head, off white in color with some lace.

A:Banana and clove are most noticeable, with fruity undertones and a slight yeast note.Does right by the style, but is lackluster compared to other hefeweizens

T:The clove is less noticeable here, with banana leading, followed by fruitiness and a gentle wheat presence and good malty flavors. Slight ester presence. Finally a light hop bitterness.

M:Overall a very smooth beer. Starts sweet, slight tart qualities, with a noticeable spicy hops finish.

D: Not the greatest in its clas, but the positives outnumber the negatives. Good take on a hefeweizen, but nothings to write home to your friends about.

Serviceable hefe, enjoyed at the brewpub. A bit of sour wheat giving a creamy hefe a bit of an edge for drinkability. Lacey giving the unfiltered hefe colours of grapefruit and wheat and a noteable, a nice appearance. No wafting clove and bannana, not necessarily a bad thing either.

On tap at the Brewer's Den. Pours hazy golden color with contrasting white head. Nose was good with ripe banana, and was quite appetizing for the beer - you just had to have a sip right away once you nosed it. More banana and esters on the palate, with the clove being more subdued.

This beer is a densely hazy, actually it is quite opaque, orangish-tinged, straw-tan color. It is topped by a creamy, yet wispy, pale tan colored head. The aroma has notes of tart wheat, clove, banana, a definite yeasty note and some fruitiness that is something like pears. The aroma is quite solid in its breadth, though it is perhaps a bit muted.

The beer is quite smooth with a light, grainy sweetness to it that is accentuated by the fermentation notes. There is a nice maltiness here that combines a bit of toasted malt and a sweet grain character. There is a light spiciness near the end that combines well with a light wheat derived tartness and a light hop bitterness as well. The taste is not quite as complex as the aroma, but it strikes a good balance of flavors and is quite enjoyable.
