Had on tap at the brewpub. Not a great porter. Very black, chocolately, lacey, some coffee, not all well integrated. Toasted black malts, some burnt and less than properly roasted parts. Somewhat acidic and sour.I didn't like the mouthfeel.Still drank a few ounces.

A: The beer was a dark brown color, almost black. It was near translucent but was too dark to see through. There was a thick, light tan head on top that lasted for a while, and the bottom part of the head formed a distinct line with the liquid part of the beer- similar to Guinness Draught. Also, thin lines of lacing were left on the glass as the amount of beer decreased.
S: The main smell was the roasted malts. I could also smell a little bit of cocoa and yeast aromas in the background. There were no hops aromas.
T: Similar to the smell, this beer's main flavors were roasted malts and dark chocolate. Near the bottom of the glass I started to taste the alcohol a little. Overall, the flavors were blended well.
M: This beer had a good, thick mouthfeel as the carbonation was low and the head was dense.
D: Overall, this is one of the best beers from Sun Up. I wish the alcohol was hidden a little more, but I would definitely order this beer again in the future. Also, this was my first cask beer; I'm not sure what is supposed to be different, but I enjoyed the beer I drank very much. This beer reminded me of the Oatmeal Stout from Four Peaks Brewing Company, but the latter had more coffee in the flavor.

Huge beer compared to the rest of the lineup. Near opaque color, at least in the low lighting of the Brewer's Den Pub. Both the nose and palate are dominated by a back 'n forth of chocolate and roasty flavors. Medium bodied and surprisingly drinkable, but keep in mind it is a cask ale.

Served on Cask, dry hopped in the cask with Cascade
This beer is an opaque, deep brown almost black color. It is topped by a brown, wispy head that does not cover the beer for long. The aroma is initially all fruity citrus Cascade notes, but then I get notes of toasty, malty porter notes that kick in towards the end. The aroma has an interesting mix of notes; chocolate, lightly roasted coffee, oranges and even a bit of pine character.
The taste is full and malty up front with a light malt sweetness, chocolate and some notes of toasted malt. What really stands out though is the dry hop Cascade notes; I get notes of grapefruit and that raw, herbal note of fresh hop cones. The raw hops leave an astringent, lingering note in the finish of this beer that really is like chewing on a raw hop cone; it is delightfully fresh, though I should be clear this is nothing like an aggressive IPA.
This beer has a very nice mouthfeel to it; smooth and a little creamy because of the cask conditioning and serving. This beer is very well done and I like how the dry hop addition mixes in with the Porter notes; even if it is a bit dominant in the end.
