Being a native, I've been hitting this place up for years.

The food is alright, but the Kobe burger rocks da house. The Fish and Chips suck, they just fry up a halibut steak, not really dip-able. Everything else is high-par.

The Beer here is usually excellent. Currently they're renovating and moving their brewery, so they've been out-sourcing a bit.

Their seasonals are always great, they have a cask, and offer an imperial stout (usually a guest brew) all the time. Once they get their brewery up, check out the enebreator, the name says it all. Oh yeah, and if they have their IPA on cask, drink it while it lasts!!

Happy hour is 3pm-7pm M T W Th F, with 1/2 Priced appetizers, try the kettle chips, and $1 off beers on tap. Cask pints go for $4.50 normally and draft pints $3.50 normally.

It's nice and quaint, my only gripe is they usually close at 11pm.

I have been to Sun Up a couple times and I went last night with my friend and DD with the idea of writing a review. This place is 30 miles away and worth the trip.

A: I like this place. It reminds me of a mom and pop place when you walk in. A bar strait ahead, tables to the right and booths to the left. That's not all: there is a patio and past the patio there is another area to seat. The parking has never been a problem for me which is a real plus. We tied a heat record yesterday and the A/C was nice and cool. The staff said they were trying to make the patio dog-friendly and this would make the place outstanding for me.

Q: This place brews some great beers! I always try something on the seasonal list and there is always something on cask. Yesterday it was a Spiced Belgium Ale. When I was there last time, I tried a Double IPA on cask.

S: The servers are great. I haven't been there enough so that they know me; but the service is fast and friendly. Servers seem to know their beer which is always important to me.

S: Several regular craft beers and more than a couple of seasonal beers that rotate insure that I find something that I like. I don't think that they serve guest beers but the selection of the brews they make are very good to outstanding.

F: The food is far better than bar food. I had the hamburger with the homemade chips: very good.

V: Regular beers for $4.50, seasonal beers for $5.00, and growlers for $11.00 (regular beer) is a good deal for good beer. There is a happy hour but I have always missed it.

I recommend this place to you guys in BA. I would like to meet the brewer someday and shake his hand!

Question; where was everybody? Arriving just before 11pm on a Friday night, we expected a crowd, however the place had only a handful of customers. Right away, I was questioned about the quality of this brewpub, but I continued to the door anyway. The interior reminds me of a family restaurant, but with sprinkles of brewery artwork and growlers to remind me that I was in brewpub, The main room was warmly lit and housed the "J" shaped bar and the taps. There were multiple rooms to the brewpub, plus outdoor seating.

With few people inside the main room, our service was provided by the bartender at our table, and she performed well to give us a rundown of the beer menu, special releases, and offer the designated driver a house root beer while I samples some of the alcoholic goods. 6 year rounds beers (pale ale, cream ale, IPA, amber ale, hefeweizen), 2 seasonal beers (coffee oatmeal stout, scotch ale), plus a cask of the house cream ale with Simcoe hops. Beers are offered in multiple sizes, with the 9 ounces size getting the attention from me. 9 ounce beers cost $3 while larger pints were a cool $4.50. With solid beer quality, (good hefeweizen, decent amber ale, solid coffee oatmeal stout) it's fair value.

For the beer savvy, it's worth a trip if you're nearby.
