The so-called Prague Beer museum is a short walk from Old Town square and a shorter walk from the Namesty Republicky metro stop. Its no museum, but it is a bar with an astonishing (for the CZ) number of microbrews on tap. Its a narrow pub, usually dark, exceptionally smoky, and decorated with brewing paraphanalia. The pub is squarely directed at the tourist market but it does keep some czech regulars despite the astronomical (for prague) beer prices. Beers run seventy to eighty Kc a half liter. Its too close to the hotel I frequent on business. Some colleagues prefer it to Pivovarsky Klub. The service is typical at the tables, and quite good at the bar. Tasting flights are on offer. The music is quite loud, making me feel like a grumpy old man at 30. Oh well. Give me a clean, well lighted place any day.

This was one of my fav places in Prague. It was a pub built into the middle of an old building, and had nice brick walls wood all over, plenty of beer centric decor. 30 whole taps! with all great Czech beer, most I hadn't had before. Lots of American styles also which was neat. Plenty of bottles too, not sure how many.
Many of the folk at the bar were tourist, but there were a few regulars as well, and we all seemed to get along quite well. Great friendly atmosphere of guests and staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful the bar tender helped me make some choices as I could only have a few beers before I moved on, and even samples. Also at about $2-3 for a 50cl beer, that was great!
Also I was there earlier in the day, around lunchtime on a weekday, so not a lot of people there, nobody smoking so maybe I was lucky with that. But I had a great time!

Was a little afraid to even go here based on how smokey previous reviewers said it was. They were right, but with that being said, I highly recommend this place if you are in Prague.
It is not far from the Old Town Square. If you can grab a seat towards the front, the smoke dissipates a bit when customers go in and out... So that helps a bit.
If you're not familiar with the beers, I'd recommend the sampler, it's 5 x 15cL glasses. I told our waiter, Michal, what I liked and that I wanted to try their Real Deal Ale brewed just for the Beer Museum and he brought me 5 very nice beers! All the servers were great in general.
There's a display case with swag just past the bar and I happened to notice that there was a bottle of Real Deal Ale in there... so you can buy some of their special beer for take-away.

After a nice meal at nearby lokal (great place for food and a pilsner urquell from the tank), we finished off our night here. Pretty good variety of beers, including an exclusive IPA which was very nice, a friendly waitress and a hip young crowd, and they even had a hockey game on TV. I had fun, but a nonsmoking section would have been even better. They had a patio in the back, but it was a bit too chilly. I recommend this bar.

Very nice place in Prague, stumbled upon it because of a brochure me and my friends found.
It is a nice place with 30 taps ranging from macro-y pilseners to craftier IPAs. You can get half liters or samplers. I sampled a bunch and there were some hits and misses but overall a solid stable of beers.
The waitresses are friendly and all speak very good English. The prices are pretty decent as well, 10 decent sized samples cost me about 8-9 euros.
Overall I would say this is the perfect place for a BA to come, although I would say it is mostly a younger crowd under the age of 30, in fact it was 100% that. It is a bit smoky, but i persevered.

after Pivovrsky Klub this is the 2nd best place for a BA to visit. Even more draft. Like over 30 local/regional drafts to chose from. Czech IPAs, porters.... I was really suprised to see stuff liek that. it was here I relized how the craft beer manis has spread through europe too. There were breweries on tap here that I cant even locate on the internet. They had a brewery make a beer just for them too. A czech IPA and Im sure there were american hops in it too. Amazing and a great break from lagers and much neeeded. The main thing was the smoke was out of control. You can probably catch cancer in there just by working there. Horrible. I did not eat there but this is worth a stop for one night to drink some amzaing local stuff.
