Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a dark brown-to-black coloring with a clingy, filmy, light tan head. Nose of bitter coffee, toasted grains, and coffee grounds. Heavy aromas. Flavors are coffee forward, like chewing on coffee grounds. Solid and robust, with a steady bitterness. Thin, smooth body, with a heavily roasted and bitter aftertaste. The finish is slick and dry. Great flavors.

Pours a black color. 1/5 inch head of an off-tan color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of hint of sweet malt, hint of pale malt, hint of yeast, and a hint of hops. Fits the style of an American Black Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, hint of roasted malt, hint of hop, and slight yeast. Overall, weak appearance, muted aroma, muted body, average feel and blend.
