Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a tulip, the beer is a hazy, bright, orange-copper coloring with a frothy, filmy, clingy, off-white head. Nose of bright citrus, tangy caramel, pine tassel, cut grass, and subtle tropical fruit sweetness. Wow! Flavors are smooth tropical fruit forward, with a subtle caramel backbone, spicy hops profiles, grass, and lemon pepper. Light and refreshing for the style, which is very impressive despite the bold flavors. Smooth and robust bodied, with a tangy sweet and tropical fruit aftertaste. The finish is smooth, light, and resinous, with a good linger. Great brew!

it was a cool spring evening when this beer first graced my lips. This would prove to be a transcendent moment in my life, liken to the feeling you get when you turn 18 and officially become a man, but i digress. this beer is equivalent to drinking the jizz of The Lord Jesus Christ, and for a moment i think he actually apparated in front of me and gave me a hander. 10/10

A: Pours amber, hazy/cloudy. Nice white, foamy head, maybe two fingers tall. Dissipates pretty quickly.

S: Wonderfully robust and smooth bouquet. All sorts of hoppy, citrusy, floral, spicy notes mingling. Not so much piney or resiny.

T/F: Subtly sweet, well balanced. The hops and the booze begin to take over after a few moments, nicely balanced. Finishes with a disappointing isolated sourness and bitterness on the back of the tongue not really typical of most IPAs. The feel is light and a little thin, with moderate carbonation that really begins to come through after a few seconds. Nice.

Overall: I liked it quite a lot. I have not been very high on Holy City offerings in the past, so it's not much of a stretch to say this is my favorite beer I've had from them. I will definitely have this again.

If I could compare it to anything similar, it would be Dogfish 90 Minute, but with a better nose and stronger hop notes. The out-of-step bitterness and sourness at the end is the only knock I have on the overall experience.

Overly bitter, lacking in aroma.

Pours a murky deep gold/pale amber producing 2 fingers of eggshell, moderately lasting, frothy head that leaves a nice coating of streaky, webby lace. Aroma is an off center balance of sweet caramel malt mixed with floral, resinous pine, humidor cedar & pithy citrus hops with background hints of honey & want to pick up as woody vanilla (where does that come from). Taste is fronted by sweet caramel malt, orange, grapefruit & floral hops swimming in a sea of pineapple & other tropical fruit hoppiness. Alcohol is well hidden. Nicely bitter but moderately balanced finish, gravitating to sweet & becoming a balanced bitter/sweet aftertaste deep into which it becomes mostly bitter. Mouthfeel pushes heavy bodied with moderate carbonation, chewy, rich, slick but mildly creamy with an astringent aftertaste.
