2015 bottle with yeast haze seen inside of the bottle. Pours a hazy straw yellow, peachy if you will, small and gone head of foam. No lacing. Smells of peaches, light Brett, tart. Tart peaches, light Brett taste, not complex but very tasty. Light bodied with very little carbonation.

2013 Vintage - Held up very nicely. Poured very clean with its golden peach hue. Not a ton left on the nose, very small hint of peach still remains. Mostly barnyard funk and grass in the nose with a hint of wood. Taste still holds some of the peach with a hint of carbonation bringing out that barnyard funk and bret. Alot more depth and flavor than I was expecting after 5 years in the cellar. Mouthfeel was the highlight of this offering, full and crisp with carbonation that saturates the tongue. Overall, another impressive offering from Crooked Stave that stood the tests of time.

Based upon some reviews it seems time has done this beer some favors. Pours with abundant fizzy head that disappears quickly leaving a murky brew with a peach juice appeearance. Peach tones with brown / fleshy highlights. not a pretty beer. Aromas of soft, macerated peach, yogurt, oak, vanilla, almond jump out of the glass. Some lemony barn funk, the CS house culture, lingers in the background. Lacking perhaps a bit in depth of aroma, but it's a peachy blast. Flavor builds on this adding some grain notes in the middle, impression of sweetness. Mouthfeel is soft, medium, adicity is modest.

Ugly clouy sour look. Tons if peaches in the nose, even two years later. Peaches do not stick aroun for the taste as it just have a Brett sour with bite. Finish is slightly harsh. If the taste of 1 could be combined with the nose of 2, they would be perfect.

375ml bottle. 2013 Cellar Reserve. Served in a stemmed glass, side by side with 2013 Persica Blend #1.

Pours a hazy, darker yellow-orange body. A bit darker than the Blend #1, actually. Two finger white head that dies down quickly, not much retention or lacing. Looks like peach juice. Smells richer in intensity, with less lemon and more stone fruit than Blend #1, but still a similar type combination. Increased tartness, a bit more must. Oak. Flavour is certainly more complex; with a nice blend of moderate stone fruit, a bit less lemon zest, mildly sweeter grain, plenty of must and hay, oak, and more acidity that produces a slight tingling in the back of my jaws. I must say that the flavour profile here is great; there is plenty of stone fruit but there is a good bit of complexity to it. The Crooked Stave house profile is very much present here. Very tasty beer. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, lower in carbonation (though sufficiently carbonated), nice acidic tartness with a good bit of peach pith on the backend. Overall, I definitely preferred this to Blend #1. There is more stonefruit, acidity, a bit more funk and less lemon zest flavour in this one. I enjoyed this one a bit more.

Appearance: Pours a hazy goldenstraw; with a quick-fading, modest head that leaves some spotty lacing behind

Smell: Bready and yeasty, with a delicate peach aspect

Taste: Toasted wheat bread sets the tone at the front, with the tart fruit flavor developing; more peach flavors come through, in the middle, though I sense a hint of butter, too; more tartness and some funk through the finish

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with low to moderate carbonation

Overall: Clearly the superior beer to Blend #1, it is a very good but not great beer; Crooked Stave has brewed others much better than this

Thanks, JMBSH, for the opportunity
