galaxy is just such an interesting hop, i am a sucker for all beers with it. this one has been around a little while, but something about the hops in wild ales, they dont denature like india pale ales and others done with conventional brewers yeasts. the hops in the nose are amazing. sweet lemon and pineapple aromatics, with a sturdy wheat malt base. summery and funky, its a very well done beer, maybe a half step more appealing to me than other dry hopped versions of this beer. it seems lighter, less sour and more funky, and the hops are just so forward and interesting. fruity without being sweet, in fact this beer is ultra dry, as dry as can be. as soon as the carbonation fizzes off the tongue in the swallow, its totally gone. i like the seemingly bigger malt base for this, its a lot for the hops to cling to, and they do here really well. very impressive stuff overall.

Had this Vieille variation on my recent trip to CS. Showed a citra dry hopped version on tap next, really wish I could have tried both.
Smell is strongly of hops with some tart funkiness mixed in. Very appealing.
Taste is a great bend of the slight funk and oakiness of the base Vieille mixed with the tropical, citrusy flavors of the hop. The bitterness and tartness play well together.
On the whole, a very interesting beer.
