L: Pours a slightly murky burgundy red pinkish with very little head and no lacing on the glass.
S: Sour cherry hits the palate first followed a strong note of vinegar and sweet malt, quite tart and sour, also a hint of oak.
T: Slightly sweet but tarter cherry, a strong note of vinegar, some sweet malt and a hint of vanilla. Quite sour and tart.
F: Tart and sour, medium body.
O: This is a very tart and sour cherry beer.

Glowing amber-brown with legs; crazy cinnamon cake nose; wood, cherry stones, Balsamic, winter spice, cranberry and some wine notes; dry, tart, low carb, clean.

Big acetic, though not as tart as some. Good depth + complexity; hints of spice and even pomegranate. Threads of malt, oak barrel + fruit - all the aspects of a good Flanders red. Comes together to form a coherent whole; a nice piece of work.

2016 bottling, warmed to suggested temp, poured into Grimm tulip
Half fingers worth of an almost cappuccino consistency and colored head, a deep burgundy-crimson, cherry-juice color body
Spot on nose of cherries with mild to sour yeast. Smoked Cherry wood.
Tart cherry juice flavor with A bit O baked beans, I kid you not. BBQ in this, Smokey cherry, very apparent burgundy-barrel no doubt.
Feels light and crisp, a lot of bite and dry mouthfeel in teeth and gums, similar to pure unsweetened cranberry or, again, cherry juice concentrates. Lovely for spring or fall
A great beer, will try again and see if I can coax something else out of this vintage in a year or two.

L: Pours a deep wooden brown almost Walnut color with a trace of deep red. Fine thin head that while this, is relatively lasting. leaving a fine lace on consumption.
S: Sour scent that is reminiscent of all crooked stave sours. I definitely sense the wine barrel adding in the mix with a nice malty aroma.
T: Delicious sour cherry mixed with something brighter like a bit of lemon zest. There is a bit of brown sugar sweetness in the finish. It is not quite as dessert oriented as the name would suggest. Clearly this is primarily based on the standard crooked stave sour beer (which is a massive and delicious win).
F: Bright and lively across the palatte for a sour beer. A little less tart and a little sweeter and smoother on the finish than some sours.
O:. Pretty awesome on its own with no expectations added. Not quite exactly what I expected from the description. As sours go it is relatively easy and mild. My slight comment was that I wanted this to either be a bit more sour or a bit more sweet like a pie. still worthy of great praise.

Appearance - Dark reddish brown. Maybe more brown than red, actually. 100 percent opaque. Yowza! That's a good looking beer.
Aroma - Sour cherries, moderate funk, hints of red wine. Somewhat light compared to...
Taste - SOUR. Sour cherries, green apple, lemon zest. Lingering sweetness at the end. The more you drink, the more it tastes like a sour jolly rancher.
Mouthfeel - Medium-to-full bodied. Oily and chunky. Carbonation is low but not too low.
Overall - Probably my favorite Crooked Stave beer. Really really really really good.

The pour looks like prune juice: murky, brown-purple. No head and certainly no lace.
The smell reminds me of semi-fermented wine grapes -- a little grape must and a little immature wine.
Tart and tannin like -- almost like eating only the skins of grapes. There's a bit of sweetness but the predominant flavor is sourness. The body leans rich and the carbonation mild. Long, chewy, and very sour aftertaste.

Almost a Flanders red appearance, albeit murkier.
Both nose and palate feature Crooked Stave’s inimitable wild note. Very, very sour: leathery, waves of tannins, and vinegar. Cherries certainly add a fruity tart kick, although they aren’t particularly noticeable on the nose.

Muddled prune juice purple-ish red, with almost no head after the fuzzy khaki froth quickly dies off, this exhibits cinnamon and brown sugar cobbler or streusel with sour cherry that's just shy of vinegar as a firm froth lifts up some red apple and gummy bears.
