Appearance: Pours out the color of grapefruit flesh - a dark pink color with hints of orange. Slightly hazy. About 1" of white head forms, which has hints of pink as well. Pretty good retention and very nice lacing around the edges of the glass. All in all, a very attractive beer.
Smell: Not too much going on on the nose. Definitely a lemony, brett funk that comes out initially. A bit of a grainy malt base becomes apparent as I dig a bit deeper. But not much else. Leaves some to be desired. The funk is nice but there is little else to complement it.
Taste: This is a bit more like it. That grainy malt base is right there again, but that is followed by a hint of cranberry bitterness and undisclosed "spice". On the back end I get some nice lemony tartness, as well as some brett funk. A nice, semi complex saison.
Mouthfeel/Overall: Mouthfeel is light with good carbonation. Very good feel, and very drinkable. Overall, a pretty nice saison. Complex enough, with a nice and pleasing level of brett funk. A nice variation of the original Vieille.

375ml bottle into Duvel Green tulip. “Holiday 2013” release.
A: Pours a deep bright pink with a thick and fluffy light pink head. Head took its time fading into a thick collar that left a network of sticky lace down the glass.
S: Hibiscus and cinnamon are easily noticeable. Vanilla, nutmeg, and oak, along with the yeasty saison base, create a creamy, almost ice-cream like quality that reminds me of spiced fruit cream. I get a few notes of tart cranberry juice as well.
T: Cranberry, hibiscus and cinnamon up front, followed by vanilla, nutmeg, bready yeast and a touch of citrus. The finish is a bit doughy, and the aftertaste is drying and has a few gritty oak tannins. I get hints of peppery spice and a hint of lemon as well.
M: Medium-full body, creamy soft and juicy mouthfeel, with silky carbonation that’s smooth. The cranberry is lightly tart, and the finish is gritty and drying.
O: A very unique and interesting beer. I quite liked it. Spices and fruit work well over the saison base. Recommended.
