Fully reviewed to my phone at time of consumption at Crooked Stave @ The Source, Denver, CO.

A- The blend ends up in a tulip with a peachy orange pink hue and a small white cap. The head is foamy and has pretty good retention. A thick puffy ring leaves plentiful lace even after a kombucha infusion.

S- The kombucha aspect of the blend is quite strong and for me takes over with ginger mostly and a bit of tart hibiscus and lemon. Farmhouse yeast can be felt but the funky kombucha masks its spicy character.

T- Ginger and kombucha are the mainstays as in the aroma. It reminds me a bit of soda I once made with water keffir. Beyond the ginger you find hibiscus, lemon zest, spices and fresh fermented bread. Generally funky all around from the beer and kombucha.

MF- Light bodied and heading toward the soda watery feel but with the blend I am not surprised or offended. Carbonation at a moderate level with a mostly fizzy crisp texture. Somewhat tart.

Personally I dont drink kombucha but the flavors involved in the blend sounded good. I also support exbeerimentation and this certainly works out well with heavy but pleasant gingery results.

Appearance - light orange in color with a great amount of head

Smell - a bit of funk to it, but lots and lots of sweet fruity smells

Taste - you get a slight sour flavor, but you definitely get the kombucha and sweetness which somehow blends well

Mouthfeel - this one leaves your mouth very easily. Not highly carbonated and easy to drink.

Overall - this is a great change of pace for Crooked Stave. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE their regular sours, but this one is a great sessionable beer from them.
