After sampling this several times I finally got a bottle and dove on in.

First pour is rather clear, slightly orange-golden body. Big white head billowed up to about 3 fingers. Settles to a slight film and collar. Some sticky lacing. Later pours provided more cloud cover

Solid aroma. Yeast and spice. Orange zest, some mango. Light biscuit. Sweet but without a sugar-ness to it.

Unobtrusive taste. Flavors are not strong and well balanced. Complex and simple. Biscuit up front with a quick burst of brett. Florals come in with some orange zest. Finishes with a quenching goop of juiciness, but leaves quite dry. Carbonation cleans things up on the end.

A very nice beer. Drinkable at 6%, good for hot days or by the fire

A - Pours a cloudy, lighter orange with a huge cream-colored soapy-foamy head with good retention. Yet another CS Gusher!

S - Funky, oranges, spices.

T - Funky, buttery smooth lemon and orange, some wheat.

D - Tons of carbonation and a light body.

O - Smooth, tasty, and very appealing. A nice funk.

750ml bottle into a medium-sized Duvel tulip. Thanks to Dan for sharing this one, my first Crooked Stave brew.

A: Cloudy, murky orange body under a lively inch of white foam. After a while the entire head disappears without a trace, making the beer go from pretty to ugly. Not bad overall, I suppose.

S: Funky citrus, plain and simple. There's some bright, acidic orange beneath plenty of bright, fresh, floral Brett funk. Excellent.

T: Orange juice at first, with the tanginess quickly being drowned out by dry, floral, slightly earthy Brett funk. Supremely dry, grassy finish. I love the interplay of fruit and funk, with the emphasis always being on the latter. Great stuff.

M: A little light and watery, with moderate, somewhat prickly carbonation. Not its strong suit.

O: This isn't quite as well-integrated as I'd like it to be, but it's still a vibrant, exciting, enjoyable beer. I can't wait to see what else this brewery comes up with.

Cheers!

Huge thanks to ablackshear for this bottle!

Bottled on 8/11; bottle number 567 of 1125.

poured into crooked stave tulip.

Appearance: opaque orange bodied beer with huge 3 fingers of head. Head slowely drops down to a thin cap that stays around during the entire glassful of beer.

Smell: oranges, tangerines, mangos, and pineapples; a serious tropical fruit medley! A hint of barnyard and earthy funk with oaky notes. This really smells awesome!

Taste: Orange juice and brett funk start this beer off. This beer just tips towards the bretty/funky side. Nice orange notes that impart a sweet citrusy flavor to the beer and fantastic balance with the brett funk. The beer has a hint of oak, earthy notes, yeasty/bready notes, and a slight tart note towards the middle of the beer. Hints of coriander and white pepper. The beer has a slight bitter bite in the finish that tastes exactly like orange zest. Complex and really well balanced beer.

Mouthfeel: light bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Crisp and refreshing carbonation. Yet the beer is still creamy and soft on the palate. Such a drinkable beer.

Overall: I was seeking out a beer that was brewed with oranges and this really gave me just what I was looking for. It kind of like a mix of a witbier, a saison, and a wild ale that is mild on the wild and bigger on the brett. This is really enjoyable beer made by Crooked Stave! I am really digging the Wild Wild Brett series beers from Crooked Stave! This is my 2nd favorite beer in series!

750ml bottle - batch 8/11, bottle 391/1125. Lots of carbonation - open carefully. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold with a huge fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is bready malts with lots of orange rind and brett and some floral earthy notes.

The flavor is milder than expected. Sweet tart oranges and some acidic funky brett. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with slightly sharp carbonation and is slightly watery.

Overall, I really like this one. It's milder than expected, but is well balanced. I really like how the orange and brett go together.

Pours a light cloudy orange with a finger of white head. Good spotty lacing down the glass. Definitely a gusher.

Smells of tangerines and slight spices. Very unique aroma.

Starts off with some citrus flavor and spice. A little bit of brett peeks in, but it is far from overpowering. Finishes with a nice orange peel bitterness.

Enough body and creaminess on the mouthfeel with good carbonation.

Better as it warmed and a very solid overall beer. Lots of good complex flavors and just a bit of sourness. I approve.
