750ml bottle. Pours clear straw yellow with a thin fizzy white head that quickly diminishes to a thin collar. Note, hazy at the finish due to the bottle conditioning.

The aroma is some fruity wheaty malts with some acidic, tart brett and some earthy funky yeast.

The flavor is tart acidic fruits and brett with some funkiness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low but sharp carbonation.

Overall, a nice milder session sour.

Bottle (2012)

Thanks for opening this with me, Josh!

Hazy, light golden orange with a moderately sized, quickly forming, big-bubbled, near-white head that leaves spots of lace down the glass.

The aroma is a simple combination of green apple juice, mild funk, and some sour element. The apple element shined through more and more as the beer warmed.

The flavor too is very apple-forward, with a mild to moderate amount of sour character, some earth, and very minor funk. A simple, drinkable, tasty table sour.

Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

A nice, simple, table sour.

Latest batch of Petite Sour mid-2012

A: straw hazy yellow color. White head, very fizzy that disapates very quickly, no lacing at all.

S: Slight barnyard funkiness, melon with lemon zest. I am getting something else maybe a slight hay smell?

T: Funk, tartness. I get a hint of lacto in there as well. I get melon, more of a slight cantaloupe flavor. Lemon zest again in the finish.

M: dry, tart, crisp finishes fine with only a hint of funk left behind. Very drinkable.

O: this being my second bottle I love this beer. While not perfect it's very drinkable at 4.5% with a very easy drinking finish. I wish I had access to an unending bottle supply. I think I could drink one a day.

1 pt 9.4 fl oz brown glass bottle served in a snifter reviewed live:

A - Pours a murky orange golden color with a thin white head of two fingers. Retention is awful given the low ABV. Generally appealing.

S - Lactic acid and brett funk along with spicy wheat and gentle citrus notes. Strongly acidic. Tart and sour, though seemingly well balanced. Incredibly inviting.

T - Strong brett notes and lactic acid open to a simple yet refreshing light body. Orange zest finishes. Very well balanced between the yeast and fruit. Far from complex but incredibly refreshing. It'd benefit from a bit more layering, but I like it for what it is.

M Light bodied, highly carbonated and smooth. Probably ideal for the style.

D - It's no powerhouse and its not complex, but it's easy drinking and got good flavors working for it. I'd have it again if the price were a bit lower.

Bottle courtesy of mrand01.

Pours a hazy lemon flesh color with a small bubbly white white head that fades leaving a bit of lacing.

Aromas begin with has some nice tart fruitiness and light wild yeast. I get a lot of wheat and sour citrus fruit, mainly lemon. As it warms there is light pilsner bready malt, light lactic qualities with some mustiness and oak.

The tastes follow the nose with semi tart, light sour lemony fruit and semi-sour wheaty malt base. As it warms you get more of the lacto, musty funk and pilsner malts. As it warms once again the oak emerges more. Falvors profile drinks a lot like a slightly fuller bodied Berlinner Weisse to be honest.

Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium with the same amount of carbonation. Finish is dry, light wheaty, slightly creamy with just a hint of lingering funk.

Overall this was a tasty beer but not an amazing American Wild; it really tastes a lot like a Berlinner Weisse as I mentioned earlier, so it's hard to given top marks when compared to similar beers of the style. Not too funky or Bretty but mainly wheaty and lemony.

Big thanks to Bill for getting this and other bottles out to me. Served in a Cellar Reserve wine glass. Nose starts with slight sulfur but fades to hay and lemon. Slight funk. Good wheat body. Dry funk. Light acid. Easy drinking. This is something I certainly won't mind having another bottle of.

My first beer from this brewery. Thanks to rudzud for sharing.

Pours a nice creamy almost 1 finger pasty white head that fades at a med pace with a bit of lacing, then disperses to pretty much nothing, the beer of a hazy lemon meringue like color.

Nose has some nice tart fruit and light wild yeast. Tart slightly lemony fruit, little creamy malt gives a light lemon meringue like aroma as well, light bready funk, light Brett and lacto with a light mustiness of funk, hint of vanilla oak.

Taste starts semi tart, light sour fruit, hint of green apple, and light sourness in general. Light funk, little musty funk, bready malts, hint of barnyard Brett funk but just a touch. Slightly thin feeling, but the Lactose adds a nice tart but creamy like, and bit of dusty oak in the background. Finish is dry and light bready, slightly creamy, just a hint of lingering funk but it's mostly gone.

Mouth is lighter bodied, lighter but decent carb, slight creamy.

overall not bad, a but light for a sour, and funk is there but barely, nice tartness, bits of fruit, very drinkable though.

big thanks to daniloknezic for a GREAT extra! Thanks Danilo!

poured into tulip.

reviewed from notes 5/10/12.

Appearance: Hay straw yellow bodied beer with a small white head.

Smell: Wheat, hay and faint lemons.

Taste: Similiar to the nose. Wheat, hay and a nice lemon tartness. Mild tart is imparted from the lemon. Really balanced beer.

Mouthfeel: light bodied beer with low carbonation. Really clean finish on this beer; really easy drinking and smooth.

Overall: Really enjoyed this table beer, but I like the Upright Four just a little bit better because of the spicy and peppery saison notes from that beer. New to the "table beer" style, but I really enjoy drinking them on hot days.

Served in a Sweetwater mini-snifter.

Petite in what way? Anyway, this stuff pours a milky pale straw topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises lemon peel, light wheat, and a touch of funk. The taste brings in more of the same, with more funk, more tartness, pervading. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying feel. Overall, an enjoyable session sour, one of the very few such creatures I've yet encountered.
